If the dealer live in Guangzhou - they do it. I've been with Mary at factories representatives offices many times, and I saw, how she buy watches there, bring to her own office, where her watchsmith inspect every watch from A to Z, and only then she ships the watch.
This is her guy, and yes, this is Mary's arm.
:p
that's why i order all my watches from her . i love mary ,she's the best !!

Even the worst of the QC picture takers is still too much.

Notice how the guy who started it, is no longer around. Stuff like this drove him out of business.

I think it was his service guarantee with service providers in the US that he had no real control over. The QC pictures are a good idea actually, but some people have absurd expectations. How many people would have taken those LMPO's with the wrong six marker, crooked logos and misaligned 12's but for the fact that the QC photos showed real flaws? When good reps were available for $175-250 with Swiss movements, expectation should be low. With prices rising into $400+ range and higher, I think members have reason to be a bit more picky. Since some TD's are drop shipping, QC photos are that much more important because you can't necessarily trust a TD to personally perform a quality control check on your watch. For this reason, I like working with guys like sead and Trevor. It can take them forever to get you a watch, but I know they are personally handling the watch and doing QC for me. Also, as I mentioned earlier, sead takes some of the worst QC pictures ever. They are like like looking at pixelated shots from a 2mp flip phone camera from 1999 with shit lighting. I trust him to handle the QC. The QC is mainly for me to confirm that he got me the right watch. :)

You and I are buying $600 AP's. But we are realistic. Some of these guys order a $200 beater and act like they just bought a Bugatti.

Please read my first post again guys. I didn't mean to accuse anyone of anything.
I'm not looking for any expert eyes because I got my own.
I don't want to resolve my problem because the dealer already offered me the solution (and I appreciare it). I also said that I love this TD and I was telling it to him many times.

This thread is about your opinions if such thing can be just the coincidence and If it was done intentionally was it ok.
Some of you guys prooved that you had very similar situations and one of them was surely from the same source. That's why I adviced Ryan to take a closer look of what's Jordan doing.
If I wanted to do it in public I would. But it was my private conversation with you Ryan.

Ryan has been my go to guy for a while now, actually ever since he started up.

From my perspective, it was more than likely an honest mistake. He is quite busy these days and small details can be miss sometimes. We all miss some things sometimes, we're human after all.

Also from what you're saying, you've been going to him for a while as a returning customer. There would be no reason for him to try and screw you over.

All in all, if you cannot live with the defect, then send it back to him to swap out. Or you can try to get him to send you a replacement dial. Hell, I'll even do the swap for you for free!

yeah, that is really too bad for Lay. I really didn't get a chance to buy off of him. I hope this doesn't drive away the current dealers.

Without mentioning names, I thought I would chime in with my experience. I am very anal, and a perfectionist when it comes to minute details, I have a sharp eye.

Now whilst I accept flaws I can correct myself, this is no biggy for me, I have experiences a TD doing exactly the same that has been documented in this thread. Hiding a dial flaw.

I was shown two watches after I rejected the first one, and was told that these two watches were DIFFERENT watches. NO, NOT the case. One of the two watches was the watch I rejected, but with the date changed, and the time changed.

Next time discuss this directly with your TD. You made him look bad. Dont act like that wasn't your intention to a certain extent.

I feel that the dealers are already bending over backwards for the anal types who would spot a molecule that is off by one atom's spacing.

No one will see it. Nobody looks at your watch two inches away with a 20x loupe. I have a gen Rollie and a gen Omega that have flaws bigger than those I've seen rejected.

If you spot a flaw, bring it up with the dealer privately. If he can't do anything, grin and bear it. I don't think the forum is a place to expose anyone or any dealer.

Yeah I agree with BMW, you shouldnt start a thread like this if you're content with what the TD has to offer, and if you're only concerned about our opinions on this matter, dont out the TD in the thread.

I didn't even mentioned his name.

BMW what this forum is for if not discussing about the reps, it's quality, imperfections and buying experience? Are you saying that hiding flaws in qc pics is fine or that this shouldnt be discussed in public?

I feel like the forum is OK to use to expose a dealer if they actually did something wrong or if they are not communicating with the buyer in solving the issue.

this is not the case and the dealer has chatted with the buyer and solved the issue
