Update on my 5513 tribulation. After careful inspection under magnification, the washer is simply not there ☹️

what I thought was a washer is only a ridge on the retainer ring. I have asked Trusty to help but in the meantime I saw that CousinsUK had one. Oh well.
Cousins love all of us 4 digit tinkerers :)

main case reshape done. now for the buffing, polish and brushing. I am not 100% happy but for a first time using a dremel, I am satisfied. Where I could have done better is exact symmetry on the 4 sides. Also I had a bit of accident slipping here and there

I had asked the question prior and had mixed answers. So Dremel 4250+workstation is all you need. lug holes drilling super easy. My drill slipped once and left a mark, but that will be merged in the overall case ageaing.

Keep the pics coming!!!

are you buffing with 240 by hand or with the Dremel?
by hand. Polish by hand too
I am not confident enough yet with the dremel for buffing

I have almost finished the polish. There are some "shadows" as my sanding was not very regular. But it does look like a ole repolished watch now

@Megahz1 I should probably call you Laoshi now 😅
Thanks😂
I am happy to share my limited knowledge and if anyone gets inspired I am even happier. The building aspect of this hobby is what really gets me, it’s where all the fun is. Sourcing parts and doing everything by yourself is the most satisfying part, even better than having the watch finished. It makes you research and learn how the stuff really works which is way better than getting spoon fed and not having the option to choose imo.

I found the washer 😅
it was glued to the bezel

the bezel insert was glued too, and the washer stuck to it 😂😂

I removed the lume pip. It was HORRIBLE. 🤢

I will keep it pipless until I buy an athaya one day maybe

Did you dilute the bleach at all and how long has it been in there? May want to retrieve it, give it a rinse and rub and see if the 'green' is just a surface reaction of the surface layer.

To my my opinion these "shadows' will bother you soon. I would continue sanding with 800 up to 3000 grit until the uneven sections are gone.
One question: which tool did you use to remove the tube ? And did it come out without heating ?

will do that.
I used a square file.
I did "heat" it...I remove it after a session of sanding...the case was hot enough then
