you would be missing the most enjoyable part. This is when the watch becomes "yours" as the metal shapes under your hands
Yeah, absolutely!. I have been studying the Rolex History Book and it has great information and images to work from; among those on search engines.

I have access to a CNC lathe so the symmetry would be perfect if the case allows it to be, plus using hand tools of course.
The bracelet isn't that bad tbh. The end link pins just cause the issues, but i've some en-route and see what to do. I've read enough on what's best for the JKF case but being an engineer, i'll make sure it's right.

The dial and hands though from Helenarou are sublime imho. From discussing what i required with the guy, i'm not sure what he actually did but for me and with reference to 'Live And Let Die', they're near perfection!.

Once the works done, i'm going to a watchmaker friend i have; we've already discussed a service and a good regulation, just to be sure all's good :).

I might purchase a VN Phong 6538 though - Although from what i've been reading and viewed images, it seems the case isn't truly gen accurate as it seems; but the images could be fake...who knows :/

Nevertheless, with a genuine Rolex movement and the quality overall, it can be made better. Does anyone know whether the dial is gen size...?
I believe the gen dial is 27mm, but i could be wrong.

The dial on JKF is 26mm.
Sorry about the confusion ha. I know the JKF and real 5513 is 26mm...sorry. I was stating about the 6538 dial...

I am sure i read that is 27mm. That being said, i need to know if the VN Phong 6538 has the correct size dial. I can only assume it has given that the case is supposed to be gen like anyway, as they have real Rolex 1030 movements in them mostly.

Thought i would add my recent build from this week. Gilt gloss dial 5513. From raffles

The dial isnt a gloss like his 6610. But it does have some people interesting properties on the wrist
Machined bezel profile
Cut deep chamfers into lugs
Aged dial with water spots and lune
Matched lume on hands to dial

Realized I forgot to drill out the lugs so I will be doing that soon. This was originally going to be another milsub build but I wanted to try out his gilt dial and for the price its nice. 👍🏼

This one will eventually find its way to the classifieds I think once the bracelet arrives
I am enjoying it on the leather nato.

Hi guys, I was wondering whom to ask to make a 5513 build, is there anyone out there that I could commission for the job?

depends on what you want and where you are based

what did you have in mind?
I'm basically looking for a 5513 tropical gilt like this one:

I'm located in Paris, budget is up to 1.5 to 2k for this one.

I would suggest EU people like Nikz , Johnny Depp, Natas and Manodeoro (FR)

You can check them out in the M2M sales section and get their username from the threads

I don't remember where MegaHz1 (the thread creator) is based but he is very good too

On this thread, you will mostly find hobbyist modders like me doing 300-700€ builds for fun and the occasional sales
