Getting To Know The Place
Yeah, absolutely!. I have been studying the Rolex History Book and it has great information and images to work from; among those on search engines.you would be missing the most enjoyable part. This is when the watch becomes "yours" as the metal shapes under your hands
I have access to a CNC lathe so the symmetry would be perfect if the case allows it to be, plus using hand tools of course.
The bracelet isn't that bad tbh. The end link pins just cause the issues, but i've some en-route and see what to do. I've read enough on what's best for the JKF case but being an engineer, i'll make sure it's right.
The dial and hands though from Helenarou are sublime imho. From discussing what i required with the guy, i'm not sure what he actually did but for me and with reference to 'Live And Let Die', they're near perfection!.
Once the works done, i'm going to a watchmaker friend i have; we've already discussed a service and a good regulation, just to be sure all's good .
I might purchase a VN Phong 6538 though - Although from what i've been reading and viewed images, it seems the case isn't truly gen accurate as it seems; but the images could be fake...who knows :/
Nevertheless, with a genuine Rolex movement and the quality overall, it can be made better. Does anyone know whether the dial is gen size...?
I believe the gen dial is 27mm, but i could be wrong.
