I use my wife's cardboard nail buffing file to lightly sand the OUTER rim. It then snapped in nicely. Remember to go very slowly and check regularly.

Thanks for these instructions. Worked a treat. I thought the rep insert was excellent, but the gen insert makes a noticeable difference IMO.

When you use the file, do you hold the bezel insert at a 90 degree angle to the buffer itself? The sanded edge won't show once installed (assuming you don't take too much material off)?

Do you snap it in with the bezel ring installed? The inside diameter looks a little snug... and the crystal sits considerably higher than a sub.
The nail file is a lot more safer than using a dremel tool...i repeat DO NOT USE A DREMEL TOOL!
My very first BPSD build i messed up a $200 SD insert...in a matter of 000.2 split seconds!...My second attempt i used a nail file at 90% angle and checked the fitment every so often until fitment was achieved ! If your crystal is setting really high...you may want to try pressing it in a little ..Also a good tip to make sure the inside wall of the bezel ring is clean of debris and glue!

Is it me or are the majority of the BPSD DWO's slightly off center? I had one a while back with a 2813 hi-beat movement. I didn't mind the incorrect pearl or a hair line there and here but the date really bothered me.

Yes, the stock dwo is off at all of them.

Mine is pretty centered I think.

Maybe you was a bit lucky. I get three different qc pics and all were off. The most are to far to the left.

I was told that the crown isn't screwing all the way in on these , like in the photo a few pages back

can anyone confirm this ?

could just be a random issue.
these happen sometimes when the movement isnt perfectly placed and the stem isnt lined up perfectly.
makes the crown really stiff and sometimes doesnt screw in all the way.

easy fix.

hi bc1221

I think it may just be that 2 dealers I went to don't want to get me one then and may have spoke to each other .

I asked one dealer to get me a bpsd , the first watch he showed me was a reject from a guy on here ( page 248 ) the crown was wrong , so I to rejected it too. the second watch had a pearl that was so too far to the right of centre, so I rejected that too .
in reality I only got one go because I was first offered a watch that someone else had rejected , so why would I want it ?

I told the second dealer to not get me the watch on page 248 , looks like the crown is to big or wont screw in , he got 3 and rejected all of them without even showing me one . he said the problem is with all of them

I emailed him 2-3 months after all this happened and was told they still have this issue .

?

Got my bpsd back from Katz with a regulated tissot 2836 installed and bk dwo Tc hands and dial. Currently has a Clark insert thinking about going either gen insert or just a wm pearl

Thoughts?

I'd go with the WM Pearl to start. It's darn close to gen, that's what I used on my SSD and it looks great. A lot cheaper too!

On my gen sub 16610 too but not so far as on the bpsd.

My dwo is only a very little bit to the left om the bpsd. I just sent it off to my watchmaker to have the TC dial, hands, and bracelet installed. Hope the dwo alignment stays as good as it was already. I didn't buy the TC dwo.

The included BP pearl is so close to gen. Hard to imagine something being closer to gen without being gen!

A bit is ok but the ones i saw are really to much to the left.

Will go with the following parts:

Gen bezel insert
Tc Dial
Tc hands
Tc dwo
Tc tube
Gen crown
Tc bracelet
