I also have a BP Sea Dweller I wish to update with TC parts; I still think that the weakest part of the watch is the bezel ring so I wonder if the TC bezel will fit the BPSD.
Do anyone know if it does and if TC sells his bezel ring (plus insert, eventually) separately?
Thanks.

After the new TW sea-dweller with the super clone movement released, this the BP still the best SD out of the box?

Looks like a Sub case. The crystal is too low. The HE valve looks polished. And the price is way too high. Other than that it looks OK.

And that movement has a pretty dubious reputation already.

Hello guys,

I ve read many pages and still i cant decide..Is this watch a quality piece,or its like the usual quality of BP factory.I ve seen many comparisons with the gen.I think many dudes out there miss the point. Its not only about the details of the dial markers, hands etc.Noone refers to how the watch feels compare to the gen (when you have both of them in hand). Also, compare this with the BP no-date sub-c,which needs the least mods?

I've never understood the theory of a watch not "feeling like a gen". Gens have no "feeling". They're just watches. The weight is exactly the same and the look is the same. You take a hunk of the same metal and make the the same shaped case and put in a same shaped movement with the exact same shaped bracelet and somehow this gen has some magical "aura" about it.

I'm pretty sure if you put a BP and a gen together at least 90% of the public wouldn't know one from the other.

And don't get going on Rolex hollow link bracelet rattle...........

If i m going to buy this with the A2824 clone,am i really gonna get that movement and not some crappy high beat 2813?I read lots of stories in another forum, where many reported that they paid for an eta clone and got a lemon.Maybe its better buying the high beat version and then swapping a seagull 2130 or maybe a gen eta?

You'll get whatever you ask for. The TD's know the difference, at least now, of that high beat POS and a 2824 clone.
I don't see why you can't ask for a movement picture with your QC pics.

If you want top of the line, buy the BP and swap in TC's dial and hand set. Maybe even his SD bracelet. But to be honest, I've got a SD with the BP superlume dial and one with the TC set and there's really not much difference.

What about the swiss ones with decorated rotor? Are these ok?

You're right, the stock bp clasp is a way better (crown/stamps) than tc's clasp. The dial looks same to me but tc hands looking much better. The tc dw v4 is also a good upgrade.

The bp is a great rep and i'm sure it's very very hard to spot it on the wrist.

thank you very much for your reply..
Through the pages i ve read i realized there are many versions of this BP SD.I wonder if the click spring of the current version is better and if there is an easy mod to make it tight(eventually the clark click spring fits?).
Also,is the quality of the case comparable to tc's sub case?I read from some guys that the quality of this BP SD is comparable to tc's sub.

I wouldn't expect the overall fit and finish of a $200 watch to be equivalent of a $600 one, but dollar for dollar, I'd say the BP is a better buy. Maybe 80% as good for 33% of the cost.

And having had only one BPSD, all I can say is the bezel and click spring on mine is pretty much the same as most of the other rep Subs that I've owned. And although it's more gen construction, it feels the same as the older SSD which I still have.

As I posted before the SD is an excellent quality buy for what it costs. Imo the only mod to evaluate is changing the crown (unless You have mismatched lume on the hands and markers). If the intention is to do all the mods (TC dial and hands/ TC bracelet/crystal etc.) and You have to send it off to a modder to do it, it´s not worth buying and to go right away for a TC sub is the better choice. TC as a submariner is thinner, the BP SD has exactly the same thickness as the gen SD. Imo it´s also not worth buying the TC bracelet as the SD one is very good already. It´s for perfectionists who want to have it 0,01% better only. It´s under a 10x lupe that the TC dial reveals all it´s unmatched smoothness and class. As long as they are not side by side differences are minor.
With me and long-term TC, SD and BP Sub-C get the same wrist-time depending on the mood and where I´m going. Unmodded SD versus TC Rouge

Here's a couple of not so good pictures of a BP and a modded SSD. One has the BP regular dial and one has the TC dial and hand set. See if you can tell what's what. Also ones a gen insert and one's a rep with a Watchmaterial pearl.

Adrian make custom click springs and they are way better than clark.
