just ordered 2014 TC LV. but I'mthinking about a sd. I like the BP with gen crown and tc dial and hands. but who makes the best modern dssd that can be fixed up? appreciate any help...

Just back from ssteel to waterproof it, change the the movement, new datewheel overlay and new hands.

Gen feels more solid. I have a tc bracelet but still..
Gen is from my gf and she really has to look wich ones is hers, when we wake up.

I've never understood the theory of a watch not "feeling like a gen". Gens have no "feeling". They're just watches. The weight is exactly the same and the look is the same.You take a hunk of the same metal and make the the same shaped case and put in a same shaped movement with the exact same shaped bracelet and somehow this gen has some magical "aura" about it.

I'm pretty sure if you put a BP and a gen together at least 90% of the public wouldn't know one from the other.










And don't get going on Rolex hollow link bracelet rattle...........

It's been a work in progress, getting it back from PBDad (case mods, lugs, install gen bezel, crown, spring bars, TC parts, etc).

Here is mine after Rsh installed a gen crown/tube in it, sealed the hev, lubed all gaskets and regulated it. Next will be a TC dial/hands.
