Any one of you with this BP sea-dweller, have an HE valve that is polished like the sides of your case? Mine isn't the darker gunmetal color like the others here. Adrian did an AWESOME job with my build and did lug holes too. I'm guessing that my case started life as a 2nd quality at the BP factory. Good thing almost everything on the watch was changed. Guess it will just be a rep of the SD before they made the HE valve gunmetal. The lug holes would then be period, no?

After a recent issue with unusually loose bezel on Greg325i's build. I was prompted to get hold of the WSO bezel and see what it looked like in the flute cut and more importantly if it would fit the BP SD.

here are the results,
1) the internal click teeth are very roughly cut, with poor finishing to the teeth themselves. However they are gen like in their angle and should make a better and more positive click.
2) the flute cut is not deep enough and the troughs of the flute are polished ( should be ground and grey in colour)
3) the machined bevel from the base to the bottom of the flutes is not steep enough

and last but not least does it fit the BP SD?, the answer is NO. This would not even fit a gen SD let alone a rep!!, so how this can be sold as an aftermarket part that " will fit your Rolex Sea Dweller 16600" I do not know??.

There is a fix for this but it does involve an amount of maching to the bezel ring. I managed a good precision fit to the BP SD, so it is doable. Cost £68.00 plus the dam import duty £22.00 (UK) hardly the buy of the century bearing in mind it doesn't fit off the shelf !!

Waiting on my franken build, just a few more weeks. This was the inspiration, let's see how close I got:

Gen flat four bezel insert, Gen 703 crown, Gen Spec tube, spring bars, TC dial/hands/bracelet, drilled lugs, modded crown guards, refinished case and bracelet as per gen, BK DWO, Clark bezel click spring, serviced Swiss ETA and waterproofed.



Total damage- a little less than $1500 USD for those interested

i think the bp dial is nice but the hands have different color so i want also change the dial and hands against the tc 16600 set.
also i would change Tube and crown .
After this changes i think it would be a great rep .

also i have some questions....

if i change dial and hands ,i need also a tc datewheel or work the bp datewheel with the tc dial [emoji15][emoji15]and fit the tc Tube and crown the bp case???
movement was an Swiss eta 2836-2 so i think the hands fit.
have i something forgot ????

and here is my bp 16600 at the moment,with tc bracelet.

You can use the BP date wheel with the TC dial. The TC hands can be used with an ETA movement. If you install a TC crown and Tube the case needs to be retapped to accept it. Hope this answers your questions.
