Yeah the hands dont look right on that issue

2836 clone or eta is best choce IMO

EDIT: thats the new ceramic seadweller, not the classic seadweller every one is refering to in this thread the case is wrong on that model

I see! Thanks for the explanation! Can you post a link to the classic SD 16600? Still not sure where to find it / which TD to pick etc.

Giver, Raddave, thanks both for the links, will check them out.

Out of interest, on a fidelity scale (10 = maximum), how would you rate the classic SD and then the latest BK's Sub (or TC's)? the price is double, but am trying to understand why. I need to decide between the classic SD and BK/TC sub.

I think they are both very correct. The BK is probably a little closer to gen and better quality. The BK sub will have a gen eta, his date wheel and a lot of tweaking. One of the big issues with the BPSD is the inconsistent quality. If you buy a watch from BK, you'll be getting a great watch. On the other hand, I have not seen too many SD's in the wild so getting called out might be slimmer. Just my thoughts. At the end of the day it all boils down to preference. Good luck!

I don't know about bk because never bought from him. As i know Bk just mod the factory watches to have aligned datewheel or dial markers... If you want to have shaved cg's or some other mods you have to go with an stock watch and then you have to send your watch to one of our modders here on board . If you watch out for an accurate sub then go with tc. This is the best out of the box and there are no mods needed.

Thanks for the clarification. 3 quick questions...

1. I checked the 16600 (A2836) on both websites and it's 268 USD ( + 30 USD shipping) on PureTime and 238 USD ( + 30 USD shipping) on ShineWatch. Do you know if it's exactly the same watch? (Then I should buy from ShineWatch?)

2. Also, on the PureTime website they are a rating system, users have only given this watch 3 stars out of 5. For what is worth I'm not sure why only 3 stars...?

3. How many years do you think a good rep should last? (e.g. BK's/TC's Sub and BPSD). Or will the decals or prints wear off after a while (e.g. 'ROLEX OYSTER etc' written underneath watch on BPSD).

Thanks heaps!

A BK 16610 is a TC sub with an ETA movement, BK's date wheel and he aligns everything.

(1) you should buy from the TD you feel the most comfortable with. My TD is Sead -suppermirrors. Don't look at at few dollar difference.

(2) see number (1)

(3) I have had my BPSD for almost 1.5 years. I also have one of BK's first batches and it's a few years old. These watches will last a very long time as long as they are not abused. The printing on the BPSD case back will rub off but easily redone with a sharpie.

get it around $238 from Shinewatch, Intime or Supermirrors. Wait for it to arrive and check waterresistance. Depending on how it looks - after it arrived - decide if You want/need some mods and to spend more money or not.

Note: the BP Seadweller is one of the best values for money as it is. That´s exactly why many members consider making it look even better.
You can always spend more to bring it to perfection like gen crown and insert, but somewhere along the line just 1% better costs $50 to $100 more.

What's the process to sand/shave a genuine insert? I received one today but there's no way it's going to fit.. no way...

I use my wife's cardboard nail buffing file to lightly sand the OUTER rim. It then snapped in nicely. Remember to go very slowly and check regularly.

This is what the file looks like.

When you use the file, do you hold the bezel insert at a 90 degree angle to the buffer itself? The sanded edge won't show once installed (assuming you don't take too much material off)?

Do you snap it in with the bezel ring installed? The inside diameter looks a little snug... and the crystal sits considerably higher than a sub.

I hold the insert at an angle when sanding. I also install the bezel before installing the insert.

Yup, the past couple of years BK has bought his 16610's cases from TC. He then works his magic. He makes a great watch, greater. Lol
