Did the polished caseback fit your 16710?

I have this one on one of mine

I cannot tell you the source, other than the 5513 stamp

The BP at 13.4mm is considered fat.

Nothing wrong with a polished caseback other than it being technically wrong for model. I have one BP 16710 with a polished caseback.

This caseback from RT is more appropriate if you wanted to try a different one.

The real test is how it feels on your wrist

The rafflestime case didn't fit my 16710. Was too small, and wouldn't screw in. Dont have the exact measurements though but iirc around 0.4-0.5mm off at the threads.
Mine has 16710 on the lugs, two dot crown and the 'newer' shaped crown guard

Sorry to hear that but thanks for posting with clarification on your watch sample's batch characteristics. There seems to be a correlation there which may help others.

I've just received one of the newer case shape 16710s from Sead. Has anyone found a caseback that fits and is easy to source? I understand the raffles at 30.3mm won't fit these recent examples.

I tried a gen 2180 caseback and it fit perfectly, taking the height down to ~12.4mm.

I'm tempted to try a DH shitter YM or YM case set from Ali, but not sure if any of these use gen-spec thread sizing. Or has anyone tried an Alpha GMT caseback? I can't figure out which BP version it would fit or if it is even thinner than stock BP.

I have a raffles caseback that supposedly fits ordered, but it's been stuck at a postal service center for over a month. How thick was your ootb? Mine was 13mm, so I'm wondering if the replacement caseback will decrease the thickness enough to be concerned anyways.

From memory it was about 13.3mm. My caseback thread diameter was the larger version at 30.9mm and some posts here say raffles didn't fit...
Fingers crossed yours works though, and if it does I'll get one too.

On the Vietnam case.
What do you do for a Bracelet? It seems the Lug holes are 2mm and the BP bracelet is 1.8mm, What kind of solutions have you seen that work?

Somehow I missed this review. I know it's been a while but I do need to say, well done and the photos are fantastic. The BP GMT hand is not only the wrong shape but short...really short. If I didn't see the low crown sticking out well beyond the wimpy crown guards, the horrible printing on the dial and DW, or that clasp, the tell from across the room is that GMT hand. It's really hard to miss.

You need to decide if you want SEL or HEL and then find one that will take a 2.0mm springbar. TC bracelet or Ginault for example. You can also drill the end link holes out, or swap in different end links.

Thrasher Also if you have a BP Sub bracelet, check the SEL hole opening and springbar thickness. I have some that are 2.0mm.

Gen 5 digit GMTs have been issued by Rolex with Sub bracelets. Mine came with a 93150 bracelet and four (stamped) link 93150 clasp complete with diver's extension. You can find many similar examples online.

Adrian actually found a nice bracelet 93150 that fits, Also now that I think of it I'm sure I can find something once I get it home.

Thanks , I will let you know as this finally gets wrapped up.

So I got this from Adrian 3 weeks ago after over a year in production, Mind you it started out as a BP cased build and transition to a viet case build. Almost everything you see is genuine sans the case.... The dial however is a refinish with dommed lume in the round indices .. This is my fault, I bought the dial in a hurry and shipped to Adrian.. Now I really need a better dial.

Looks great!! Inspiring me to try and finish my build as well. I also made the mistake of buying a dial in a hurry and ended up with a poorly lumed knockoff. I may call dibs on your domed lume dial if you find yourself a replacement in the future!

This is as far as I’ve gotten while waiting for the right tools to assemble the case properly:
