Just to add quantity to the thread, here’s my approved QC. Date is very right leaning but I have a video of him going through all the dates and it’s basically just 26 and 27 that looks a little off so idc.

Looks like dial is not even either right? It’s to the left a little

I see yours is a tad off center as well. Good to know its a common theme.

Tar on toe
couple of questions for those who have the coke version:

do you plan to age the watch(dial, hands, bezel, case, bracelet) or wear it as is. If so, what are you planning to do?

has anyone changed our the oyster bracelet and put on a jubilee bracelet? If so,which jubilee bracelet model number did you use?

I purchased this coke, and for now the only mod I plan is to replace the insert with a used gen. Arrives on Monday, and will likely have to shave it to fit - but we'll see.

Can you take a few pics after you remove the bezel? I'm interested to see how the bezel and case assembly works. Thanks!!

Unfortunately, I decided to reject it and have Steve reorder a new one. Too many things wrong with this, some I can fix, but the insert was driving me crazy. BP can do better.

that is just an insert though so i wouldnt be so worried about it as it can be changed out. Mine inst great but at a glance no one will see it and the chances are the factory just pick the next one they have in the parts bin so it luck.

So here is the BP with the bezel off and this is the click mechanism, mine seems a little bit week so will change the spring and insert in the 2 little holes on the outside ring, yes its a bit grubby had to remove some plastic which i was hoping was the cause to the week bezel but its not, don't get me wrong its not that bad, just certain parts it feel a bit too easy to turn, so figured swapping the little springs might make it little stronger click feel. Dial needs to be moved and that next to do!

I started to look into this but the BP and some of the aftermarket inserts are slightly off too. They are not one for one. There is sanding that needs to be done, etc. I don't feel like doing all this. I'm not in a rush so let's try again.

Fair enough I have just bought a couple that look to be a straight fit and now looking at the back of the bezel it might push fit but wont know until I remove it. The bezel is easy to get off unlike others so swapping the insert might be alot easier, than models that have the bent metal wire click spring as they are a pain to get back together

That is good to know. Would like to see the outcome of this once done. Trust me, I didn't want to do it but again, just don't want to mess with it right now.

So looking at the little clicker inserts, they are seated on springs much like the sub on later models (without the one way insert) This version though has only 2 of the clickers, the sub had 4

So wa wondering peoples thoughts on changing these, Ive seen that the Seiko SK models have a ring with the click sections raise and seen a video where these can be bent to allow the bezel to rotate in bother directions as opposed to uni as intended (will see if this fits the case as they only use the 2 holes) so its just to see if the ring will fit)

I have also ordered some springs and ball bearings to either just swap the springs over as they might be a little stronger or swap to the ball bearings instead of the little head as in the picture, I've also ordered some more pointed heads as they might be better too.

I will try and add some picture when I replace them and see how they go. The click isnt so bad but more the turn from one direction to another it feel like there is a bit of play, so im of the thinking either its the spring tension, or the way the insert seats in between the bezel sections perhaps, it could just be that there are only 2 points of contact which make it feel a little worse. The other thought is the rear of the bezel ring segments are perhaps not as well cut as some of the others making it easier to move on parts due to there being less resistance (this would make it more tricky to solve so moving to a new case would solve the problem)

What size screw driver is needed to loosen the movement inside the case for re-aligning? And is that a pretty standard size for most RLX clone movements?

TIA

My VR3186 has play when setting the hour hand separately. Look at the play of the stem in the center of the watch face. Is this a bug or a feature?

Normal because the vr3186 is a copy of the Rolex 3185 movement: both movements and their design have this wiggle/ play on the hands.

Rest assured, this observation is also well documented in the genuine watch forums.

Here is my BP 16710 Coke with a gen (used) insert. Insert popped in and snug enough to hold without adhesive - no sanding required to fit.

Here is a comparison of BP insert & gen insert before installation. The differences I noticed were the gen font was not as bold, sixes were flat-sided vs oval and the red color was slightly less burgundy; probably others - but those are what I noticed.

I also meant to ask - is the bracelet for a gen 16710 with SELs and no-holes case - supposed to have polished or brushed side-links?
