Just got my QC pics. Dial seems well aligned but date seems to sit a bit high... it could be the pic angle though. The insert font seems to be a bit too bold but I don't know if that's supposed to be the "fat" font version or what...
Is there anything I missed?

Bezel insert is pretty good al the numbers are not overhanging the insert, granted the fonts are fat but seen so many different ones fitted to gens it doesn't really matter, if you wanna tone the red down, use a cotton bud with some neat bleach and wipe it around and then clean off it slowly fades it

New insert installed because the numbers on the right were off centered as saw on the QC pics (previous post).

Here is the one I ordered: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/173742461620
Quality and color very similar (pinkish) to the BP, it is just a little bigger (maybe 0.1 mm ?) so now it clicks inside the bezel instead of being glued.
The bezel operation as less play now and seems better to me, I'm very happy overall

Fair enough I have just bought a couple that look to be a straight fit and now looking at the back of the bezel it might push fit but wont know until I remove it. The bezel is easy to get off unlike others so swapping the insert might be alot easier, than models that have the bent metal wire click spring as they are a pain to get back together
They are super easy. Get the wires into the bezel, place the long click wire into the hole in the watch. Move the bezel into close position about an inch from the watch and get the end of the click wire so it’s in the hole in the watch and the other end into place in the bezel. Then you sort of turn the bezel in your hand and “roll it into place” on the watch. you already have both ends of the click spring in place. Once you “roll“ the bezel into place, just click it down and done. It was super easy once i figured it out.

Anyone have a TD link of where to order this in Pepsi configuration? I just want to make sure I am not ordering the wrong watch.

Any TD, you just need to ask for 16710 BP with VR3186 movement buddy.

About genuine insert this bezel can’t accept genuine insert withou modification (bezel rework). The profile of BP an GEN insert are different and if force as hell to put in place the insert maybe you can with a ton of force but:
-1) the bezel won’t stay flat with bezel and have an wobbly effect, like it’s to high and pops out. You need to rework also the depth of BP bezel to have a proper profile side with gen insert installed
2) without mod the diameter also, and force as hell the insert to stay you risk to damage the profile of gen insert and remove the paint.

I personally always mod the bezel to fit genuine insert to snap on like gen, and not like a lot of force like stock BP bezels requires.

I ordered mine from Trusty. They also added an option on the product page recently, to specify the movement you want. I recommend you also make sure to follow-up and remind him that you want the new version with the VR movement.

Hello.
Submariners have thicker caseback cause of other caseback sealing.
Also for all 5 digits - the difference of crown, tube, caseback, crystal gasket.

5-digits:
Sub (GEN) 300m water resistant (triplock crown)
GMT (GEN) 100m water resistant (twinlock crown)

Same for the EX2 - same as GMT construction
Hello. May I ask you what the tube/crown difference is? I'm planning to drop in a gen 5330 tube in my bp 3186 16710 and I'm quite concerned about it.

Hey is there a online video or instructions you guys followed to remove the insert and also to make the bezel rotation a little nicer? I have one incoming now and last time I removed the bezel I couldn't get it back on.

When you say mode the bezel? How do you mean? Ive been looking at a gen spec complete bezel assembly and insert. It does away with the crappy click wire, in favour of a proper bezel retainer proper click spring and then bezel ring and insert. the only thing Im unsure of is if it will fit over the current crystal. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164214024470 Just didnt wanna blow the money if there is no chance at all!
After muting the little bit of the chamfers so they are hardly noticeable the only bug I have is the bezel slack due to the way the bezel ring is just secured by the click wire which is hit n miss.

Have been neglecting mine and remembered I had a all black bezel provided kindly by @bowtiefanatc when I bought this one from him.

Hate to admit it, killer combo.
