I'm not upset about the bezel rotation- mine is ok. I'm actually pretty happy with the watch- been wearing it for a month. Earlier this week I visited my watchmaker on another matter and while talking we got on to my new rep- the BP16710. We put it on the timegrapher and it was high 200s and 6-8 secs slow. He demagnitized the watch and lo and behold it was over 300 with amplitude and only 2 seconds slow. Been running great ever since.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to trim the insides of the cgs w/o removing the case tube.

My BP submariner came super magnetized also. Running super fast like +80s and very low amplitude. I bought a good demagnetizer and it seems better now. Amp is still a little low though.

Where are you buying these spare parts to make the bezel rotation feel much nicer? Its pretty bad from factory actually. LOL

I'm surprised not many ppl are complaining about it. I'm pretty sure all of them feel like mine and yours.
I got a few from Ali and some local watchmaker in the UK to be fair the click par isnt the issue its the way the click wire bites the case its just not quite smooth enough or have enough resistance so it feels a bit slack

I bought a BP 16710 last summer and recently have been wearing it more and more so I thought I'd check back at RWI and see what people are still thinking about this watch.

While people are free to like/not like what they want, and are free to mod anything they don't like, I think I'm a realist when it comes to these types of watches. If I want perfection I will buy the real thing. I owned a genuine 16710 but sold it because it wasn't getting enough wrist time compared to its value. On the plus side I made good money on that sale since I bought around 2017 and sold in late 2021 at pretty much the height of the market.

But by last summer I was wanting a Pepsi on my wrist again (at least part of the time) and picked up the BP 16710. I made a couple of changes. I bought the slimmer caseback which has reduced the thickness to 12.4mm. Although it's still slightly thick compared to gen, it's more than close enough for me. If I recall correctly the out of the box thickness is something like 13.2mm which was a hard no from me.

I also replaced the bezel insert as BP came with one a bit too purple-ish for my tastes. I added one from wholesaleoutlet990 from ebay. I think I'm going to get a couple more and experiment with bleaching one to take off some of the shine and fade the colors just a touch.

I also added hollow end links since I prefer the more old-school look. I realize the lugs should be drilled to have hollow end links but I don't care. I did the same thing with my genuine 16710 simply because I like it that way.

My BP came with the SA3186 so I also ordered a VR3186 on aliexpress. However, I've had no issues so far with the SA3186. In fact, I've regulated it to achieve a pretty consistent +2 or +3 seconds a day. I own a genuine 16610 that is not that accurate! If the SA3186 does break down I'll just pop in the VR3186.

With regard to the crown guards and lug chamfers, they don't bother me in the least.

Overall, I'm very happy with the BP 16170.

One other niggle I will add is that the bezel action is trash. No one with any knowledge of Rolex would manipulate the bezel and think it was genuine. That said, I really don't care about it enough to change the bezel. And I don't ever hand my watch to someone else to handle.

You have pictures of the insert. Looking to replace mine. Did you have to sand it down to make fit or anything?

I don't have pics but you can see them on ebay. Seller is wholesaleoutlet990.

The insert popped right in, but it was a bit thinner than the BP insert because it would slide around inside the bezel assembly. So I popped the insert off with a toothpick and added some two sided tape to keep it from moving inside the bezel assembly.

Just a heads up in the bleaching - you may want to tape the red side off and bleach the blue, then vice versa. I found that if you bleach the whole thing the red washes our much faster than the blue, so by the time you have a nice blue, the red is all but gone.

I have also been pleased with the BP. Hey, where did you source the slimmer caseback that fits the BP case?! Thanks!

Anyone recommend where I can get the parts to fix the bezel rotation? Exact links to the parts would be good.

What are you trying to fix? You can’t get it like Gen because the construction is completely different.

Yeah I know but surely something aftermarket can make it feel a little better? Its completely craphouse right now. Feels like someone took a angle grinder to the underside and the bezel turn is horrid.

I bought it from a seller out of Germany through ebay in the summer of 2023. However, I just checked and this seller does not appear to be active anymore and I think he screwed over his last customers and flaked out--based on the last feedbacks he received.

That’s pretty terrible. The ones I had were fine. Maybe new springs like these?
