Zzf? Crown guards are absolutely atrocious. A lot to love about the zzf but the horrible mid-case. But these factories are smart, v6s proved they are capable, but they will NEVER create the perfect rep.

I was referring to my noob v9 that has perfect cgs so i want to switch the case cause in the zzf are too fat also straight and without that nice radius of curvature

The ZZF in your pic is elevated more which shows the side of the case more. It's not a fair comparison. Plus the background is completely distracting.
In any event, one man's atrocious is another man's "Meh, no biggie". You're right about them purposely not creating the perfect rep, it would be self-defeating.

One man said to me recently: “all the beauty of the any watch is what you see through the crystal”. In this particular case we could add bezel as well cause its special color and all that but I really think everything else is just nitpicking

i think in this picture seems equal because the gen cgs are angled so in a front view pic you are seeing the lower part of the cg that is as big as zzf but the top is thinner and curve more. But in this picture seems not that bad at the end... i dont know cant wait to see it irl
A member here did a good job of adding metal and reshaping a 5 digit BP cases incorrect crown guards. I wouldn’t say it’s not possible.

Very nice is he using 904l wire?.. but to do that angled cg work you need CNC milling machine and titl the mill up to gen degrees cause you cant hand shape the cg and have a uniform result, you can just poolish it at the end by hand but not make that radius.. im curious to see the result after the poolish to see if sings left by the work pop up. Btw great job and great idea

Looks absolutely stunning, the broken pearl won’t change that. Crystal is very nice.
Thanks mate. The good thing is in RL the pearl looks like dirty and you can’t see it for real. But the watchsmith didn’t clean the other side of the crystal good enough. Such a bs watchsmith. Asked him already to clean that. In sunlight it looks like trash.

I thought he is good because as I said he has also a lots of Breitling etc. Customers. I didn’t think that such easy work would cause such trouble

Wow! Go back and have him do it again, for free. Make sure he cleans it like a crazy man!
I probably will tomorrow. Funny is that he doesn’t respond me now after I sent him pictures. And the pearl well he said „that’s a replica that can happen, not my fault“. Never thought swapping crystal is that hard. And before that he told me he can switch my dial to GMF with the markers from ZZF.. lol my dial would have been destroyed completely

Damn that sucks! I hate it wait I get a piece back and find a speck of dust or dirt under the crystal. It drives me so nuts that usually I just clean it myself. it should be easy enough to pop off the back, remove the crown and stem, and drop the movement+dial and out together. Then clean the crystal from the inside and put it back together.
Just learn how to remove and insert the stem and you should be good to go.
