Does anyone know if the SA3135 movement that comes in the ZZF V2 will accept a Gen dial without cutting the feet off? My modder told me he prefers the VR3135? Does anyone know if a VR3135 will fit into a ZZF case? If so, would any TDs be willing to swap the movement out? Last question, do you know of any TDs that are willing to sell parts as I plan to build a Franken and will not need the bezel assembly, crystal, or dial.

The sa3135 in the zzf is the vr3135, just different naming because it's not a vrf watch

Ok, wow....I feel stupid! But great to know. Thanks!

One more question. Seems I remember reading that there are a couple of gen parts that need to be installed in the A3135 to make it stable and reliable. Anyone know what those parts are and where I can find them?

Man, this is such a great resource. I’m finally building my dream watch since I cannot afford to buy it new or even pre-owned. But I will be VERY happy with my Franken piece when it is done and will have paid a third of the cost of a new one.

The VR3135 is good as is, if you want to keep the watch get the movement serviced and you should be fine for a while

Ok, so I need further clarification. All of the various 3135 movements made by the different factories are exactly the same, just different names? SA, SH, VR 3135 are all the same clone movement of the Rolex caliber 3135? All parts are interchangeable?

Also, does anyone know if the clone 3135 will fit into the case of the ZZF V2 that originally came with the A2836?

Not exactly mate. There are three makers manufacturing clone 3135s: SA, SH and VR.
SA being the least reliable with non interchangeability with Gen 3135 parts, SH and VR offering interchangeability with Gen 3135 parts, however SH has some issue with Gen date wheel and its autowind assembly and VR being the most stable and least issues among the three.

Mostly agree, but the SA actually refers to 2 different movements, the old one is the not so good one as you described it. But the sa3135 in the zzf is actually the vr3135. It's not called vr because it's not in a vrf. I think there was info saying that noob had also switched to the new vr (not 100% sure). In any case the vr3135 is easily identified. KJ2020 has

//forum won't let me finish my previous message ;)

I was saying that KJ2020 had explained well how to recognize the be earlier in this thread or in the other zzf thread

No, a clone 3135 will not work in a case designed for the A2836 due to the difference in stem height.

Quick question to experts regarding the SEL recession. If I have two ZZF subs and one has perfect gen like SEL recession and the other not so if I swap the bracelets do I get the same recession with the other watch?

I just don't know is it a case issue, end links issue, spring bar issue or something else that causes the SEL recession to be different on each.

Bumping my question.

Can anyone comment?

I'm thinking wether I should swap the bracelets on my two ZZFs to get better SEL recession on the other.

No way of knowing until you tried.

I have 3 ZZF bracelets. The curvature and fit of the sels are all different, and seemed to be finished specifically to the watch it's paired with. I had 1 rep with a very bad slant to the inner surface of the lug, and yet the bracelet that came with it fitted fairly decently, while the other ZZF bracelets didn't fit at all.

Thanks for the info that's actually the worst case scenario if they're finished to the case they're paired with. Didn't even think about that being an option as well.

I will try it out and let's see.

Received my ZZF V2 today. It's reasonable, but the dip in the centre of the dial is too distracting for me to feel completely happy. Anyone I show it to is going to ask questions and assume it's a rep (I always tell people anyway), and, if this is present in some gens too then what a fucking joke. This ZZF will now be my daily bash about.

No, they are not the same, SH and VR are different. SH is in the arf, VR in zzf v2 and Noob v10. As another user said vr3135 is the same of the new SA3135, but different from the old SA3135 That was installed in The Noob v9.

Could you please upload a few pics to show how big the dimple is?

Anyone I show it to is going to ask questions and assume it's a rep...

Unless all people you show it to works as a AD that's not true at all... most people have no idea how a Sub look like in detail... however I do understand if the dimple is disturbing you... I'm waiting for mine and I would prefer if it where a bit smaller than I believe it will be.

The dimple on my ZZF Sub doesn’t really bother me nearly as much as how dark the numbers and stick markers are on the bezel (which to me is getting worse the more I wear the watch) and the clasp, the clasp in my opinion is pretty cheap , but in case anyone is wondering I received my watch and went from the box to my wrist and I wear it everyday and I own a construction business and the watch is not treated delicately, it takes a beating at times but it keeps great time, most afternoons I jump in the pool with it own and have never had a problem, I was loading my boat the other day and stepped off the concrete boat ramp and the watch went completely under water on my wrist and no problem at all, I am impressed with the durability of the watch for sure, I haven’t had it serviced I will if something stops working

IMO, I believe it would be extremely hard for anyone to think it’s a rep on the wrist, I haven’t had anyone comment in the watch one way or the other, most people don’t even notice your wearing a watch much less what kind it is, I know it was talked about many days ago but the grayish which is supposed to be a lot whiter on the bezel is the biggest flaw I notice

Have you tried cleaning the insert with some lens cleaner soapy water with a toothbrush. They do get dirty

That's not a bad idea. On my noob v7 it helped with warm water, dish soap and a soft sponge and it got brighter.

If your insert or general appearance of a watch is not what it used to be, rub it now and then with some car wax. I have even used car polishing compound and cape cod cloth on mine regularly to erase scratches and hairlines, it does bring the old shine back. They are like new. Just don't rub too vigorously with the cape cod on brushed steel or colored engravings and you should be fine.
