Only issue with the AR coating is that it’s on the outside I think. So if you’re a bit rough with your watches you’ll end up scuffing it and have it looking pretty ordinary in no time at all.

How good is the ar coating on the zf when compared to the vsf?

VSF has bettter coating.

ZF better bezel and crown guard

I'd go with ZF, as the AR coating really matters in specific lighting conditions.

only because it free spins like the ORF does. I applied oil to my rotor and it’s perfect now. The gen is that quiet either. I wear it everyday and have since buying it a few weeks ago.
Do you need a specific tool to open the caseback to oil the rotor?

Out of curiosity, I purchased an OEM link to see whether it would fit either the VSF or ZF bracelet.

It fits on both, however, the ZF is closer in spec to the OEM part, and I can use the rep screws in the OEM link.

I could not use the rep screws on the VSF bracelet, so unless I bought another pair of OEM screws (the OEM part only came with a pair) I cannot fit it to the VSF bracelet.

So ZF wins.

If anyone needs an extra link, PM me and I'll list it.

Someone mentioned that on the ZF Version the Rotor is not bi-directional winding? it is spinning free in one direction.

I checked the reason and found out that they removed one gear from the Autowind module, cut the edge off to get the Deco Plate fitting where the Balance is. the Autowind Module is modified to one directional winding.

I replaced it to an eta autowind and cut the deco part for the Balance of, otherwise the Deco Plate is not fitting anymore and it is needed to secure the Movement with screws to the outer ring.
Now its bi-directional winding, Rotor is not spinning free and Balancewheel is free for adjustment.

With this mod it lost the "gen Movement look" but...wayne? :D Because those who will be fooled with the Deco Plate will also be fooled by this because they have no clue of Movements/watches ^^

Cutted edges will get some beauty program.

It’s exactly what ORF have done - same as ZF.
Only the VSF seamaster has no directional winding. There is a whole thread on the movement differences with pictures on the 2 different styles.

Thanks for the find Mate, so ORF did the same.

This is the first rep that I buy and I'm a bit worried about the movement.
If I have problem with the movement of my zf Seamaster, which movement should I buy for replacement?

I do not care to have the omega decoration in the movement, I just want the watch tell the times.

There is nothing bad with it, its a standard A2824 Movement. It only has a Deco Plate to look like Omega and a uni directional winding Rotor/autowind.

You can replace it with a Eta2824. If you want you could also use it without deco parts.

Just got a green ZF - quick shot for now, will try to do more detailed photos later. As someone who’s not typically a fan of green watches… wow - the way this changes colours, and the subtle dark green, is fantastic!

One quick note: definitely check and tighten all the screws on the bracelet after receiving it. I noticed that all the screws, including the clasp, were only just screwed in. So on most I got about a 1/8” additional turn to tighten.

What screwdriver did u use? In a few weeks I need to shorten my strap and I don't know what I need for that.

You can use any 1.6mm flat screwdriver. I picked up a pretty good set off Aliexpress, but depending on your budget you can also get a Bergeon. A bracelet resizing block is also recommended to hold the bracelet while you're working on the screws, as well as a pin pusher to push the pins out after removing the screws. A paperclip would also do just fine. That and steady hands and you should be set.

Enjoy, the green is amazing.

So..How is the alignment of all the hour markers ? Especially the 6 under the date window and the 12 hour battons. ZF seem to be struggling with this and have seem many examples with alignment issues. How is the bezel action ? Is bezel pop centred and is there any backplay ?

Everything is well aligned except the 12 batons - the right one is just slightly tilted, but not noticeable on the wrist. Bezel pip is centered in the triangle, no backplay on the bezel, but the insert is slightly misaligned, which should be fixable.

Managed a quick macro-ish shot. Just the 12 o’clock marker slightly tilted, and the insert slightly rotated counterclockwise. I’m sure the insert can be easily rectified… the dial, I’m not too sure about. It would depend on how the indices are applied to the dial. But neither bother me enough… just waiting on an ORF bracelet to finish complete the package now!
