I think still the ZF version because of the case shape. Dial and bezel insert is ok in both. Vsf bracelet should be better, but if you are planning to wear it on rubber strap it‘s not a big deal.

My green ZF Seamaster has landed today! It looks and feels amazing :) With the steel bracelet it feels quite heavy, but on rubber strap it is a dream. The rotor is not extremely loud (louder thand vs3235 and quieter than pam vsf movements)

Any photos? I'm excited to get my hands on mine

@Kup1712 ZF did a great job with the Seamaster green. I agree the rubber strap is the way to go. It's how I went with my GEN. I am on the hunt for a REP green rubber strap & Omega buckle to compare it to the GEN rubber strap and buckle on my white dial.

Rep rubber straps are easy to get ZF and VSF versions (every TD can source it easily for 78-88$). On Aliexx are also some good versions, you just have to look for flourine rubber…it is comfortable and really soft (20-30$) :)

Thank you....I did see the green Omega strap for $78 over at InTime. I'm curious if the GEN is identical to the REP given it has no stamp of where it was made unlike many rubber Seiko straps. Other choices out there are Zealande which are nice, not made in China.

Weirdly I've noticed my green one isn't getting much wrist time and I nearly think the green rubber strap might make it too much, almost over the top in terms of alot of green and more casual? maybe even cheapens it a bit though I think it's suit it so much more.. the bracelet might make it seem more typical /high caliber

Without having to buy ZF, VSF, ORF and putting the three together, which one would you pick for the green? The only flaw on ZF seems to be the rotor noise because it can only wind one direction. How bad is it? For the ZF owners did you silence the rotor? I hope its not as bad as Miyota 9015.

I have the ZF (got it a couple of days ago) and a GF Santos with the 9015. And yes. The rotor noise on the ZF is kinda bad. Louder than the Santos. Two of the loudest watches I own. I also have a gen speedy racing with the 3330. That is kinda loud but it doesn't sound cheap (hard to explain but yeah). Luckily the ZF rotor noise isn't audible unless you move your hand fast or ambient noise is low.
I would love to know if there is a way to silence or even reduce it to an extent. I've read about people using (Moebius?) oil.
The only issues I've noticed with the ZF are:
1. Rotor noise
2. Mine seems to have a tiny issue where in, after I set the date and try to screw the crown back in, it almost always changes the date half way through while I'm screwing it in (eg. I set the date to 30. I push the crown in to screw it back in. I push and turn the crown. The date wheel moves such that it reads 0 3 (3 from the 31 becomes visible)). The only way I found to fix it is to set the date, turn the crown in the opposite (unscrewing) direction while pushing it slightly so that it catches the thread and then screwing it back in completely. I can live with it but I won't be able to set the date and screw the crown back in in a hurry. I'll need to take my time.

I also wish ZF fixed the mismatched serial numbers (movement vs lug). Would've been perfect if they did that.

But overall I love the watch. It looks fantastic. Bracelet feels solid (slightly sharp but I'm hoping it rubs on my jeans enough to smoothen out). Clasp is wonderful. The bezel is smooth and has zero play. I've been wearing it almost all the time since I got it and I'm afraid I won't be wearing my gens or other watches as much. I'm planning on getting the black bezel white dial smp300 as well.

@Valaj appreciate the feedback on the ZF Seamaster even though it was directed at another member. I think a lot of the noise you hear is due to the additional plating to replicate the Omega 8800. As for the method you’re having to do to screw the crown in, I always cycle the crown towards me a few spins then press in and turn the crown away from me while pressing down.

I do this for all my watches, GEN and otherwise as it catches the threads better and avoids cross threading. Though admittedly it shouldn’t adjust the date when just screwing it in and turning the crown away from you. That’s unfortunately part of the experience with Chinese rep movements sometimes.

I can definitely recommend the white dial Omega Seamaster though mine is GEN.

Apparently the noise is because the rotor only winds when it turns in one direction. When it turns in the other direction, nothing happens and it just spins freely and loudly? My knowledge is extremely limited and thus, I do not know if that is true or not. Apparently it is the same with the mayors 9015, which is why that also has pretty audible rotor noise.
My doubt is. As per the comparison by Steve (SMP300 gen vs vsf vs zf vs orf etc), the reps all use the same seagull movement IIRC. No one has said anything about rotor noise on the VSF watches. Why would it only be obvious in the ZF if the movements are the same? Hmmmm
And yes. I totally get what you’re saying. I’ll have to be more careful now when it comes to screwing the crown back in.

I love the white dial omega. Such a classy piece. If I wasn’t waiting for the gen 60th anniversary bond edition, I would’ve got the white in gen.

Yesterday I opened the caseback on my zf seamaster to lube the gasket and after that I wanted to clean the deco plate and silence the rotor.
End result:
~gasket lubed ✅

~Deco plate not cleaned it just “poor” finish of the deco plate in zf
~Rotor “silenced” with Molykote DX but unfortunately the noise is almost the same (I didn’t want to over grease it - Done that on pam rotor and the pr was really bad)

My VSF is pretty noisy. Almost on par with ny Pams. But only I think cause its not free spinning, so makes is bareable. Think that display back adds to the noise

This is helpful to know - Sometimes the noise can be bearable if you're expecting it. It's when you're not expecting it to be so loud, that it becomes a problem (if that makes sense). Is there anyway that anyone knows how to bring that noise down?

I don’t have a good idea, because my only hope was Molykote Dx and it worked every time with über loud pam rotors on my vsf models. As mentioned I tried it but it didn’t worked as planned. You can always use more but it can easily be over greased and the power reserve will be poor (learned the hard way)

Good to know - Thanks you. I'm such a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff, I'd be the guy that attempts to try something with all the knowledge and research and STILL mess it up.
