Pilulping this query from another SMP thread, has anyone thought of / carried out this mod before that would ultimately produce a close to gen version.
Essentially buying a VSF and ZF and combining the two i.e installing VSF movement and crystal on to ZF?

Just a personal opinion here, but I don't see this being worth it. Once I used the tiniest amount of grease to slow down the ZF's rotor when not going in the winding direction, it wasn't noticeable on the wrist. Both the VSF and ZF movements are different from gen when looked at, so that's a moot point. The crystal might be worthwhile if you're one of those bothered by the tiniest of clarity differences (no judgement, we all have our own oddities and niggles), but it wasn't a big difference at all when I had both. Overall, they're both far enough from gen that a franken of the two wouldn't make an appreciable difference unless you were to find the parts piecemeal. Though, at that point, pony up for the real thing or a legit franken.
I’ve just bought a vsf green from Sead/supermirrors and intend doing this on my blue ZF and also a new Swiss sellita movement inside.
Anyone know where I might get just the steel bracelet for a 300 Green seamaster? I'm about to order one with a rubber strap but it doesn't seem like TDs offer both. Seems more like it's 1 or the other.
I definitely prefer the rubber but I wonder if it's wiser to order stainless steel and source rubber elsewhere?

. Just got my seamaster delivered today. Really happy. Ive got the bracelet one. And i also want to get a rubber strap. Please do let me know if you find out how to source the rubber strap and likewise I’ll let you know if I come across anything.Haha yes please do. I feel like the rubber one might be easier to get aftermarket so might be best copying you ordering stainless steel and seeking out a rubber. I'll ask the TD if he can get me bothI came here to ask this exact same question

Is it worth spending 3 times the cost of a whole rep watch on a gen bracelet? Each one his own, but to me not.

Could mean or not mean decent. If you don’t expect gen quality, you actually have a good chance of not being disappointed. I got a lot of good stuff from Ali, but with none of it I went "Woooowww, that's MUCH better than I thought".

Has the VSF v2 gotten white lume?
I see a couple of QCs now where they’ve sorted out the lume issue. And in all TD websites the VSF v2 has white lume as apose to earlier when the VSF had yellow lume on they’re websites.
Anybody can confirm?

No, AFAIK.
And CG's are still short, again AFAIK.
VSF V2 just had a black balance wheel instead of the early golden one.
Such upgrade was introduced something like a couple of years ago?
