I go back and forth between the dials.

Sometimes I like the 15500 with the missing Automatic text but then sometimes it looks empty lol

I for one prefer the hour markers on the 15400 and that there is a 3 hour marker.

Wait this thread is about the 15450 lol we’re getting OT

haha- definitely good to know. honestly it is so hard to decide as the 15400 seems to be a bigger case (1mm) but the dial of the 15500 is way bigger making everything seem bigger.

Yes we can definitely get back to the 15450 talk as this OT and 15450 vs 15400 or 15500 should not even be a debate for smaller wristed fellows as the 41mm just looks almost unwearable

Does anyone know if the Blue colour of 15500 15400 15510 is the same?

I read that 15510 is more navy? Overall how do they compare?
The shade of blue is not uniform among the three. Even looking at official AP renders suggests that each of the dials aren't "meant" to be exactly the same shade. It may not even be uniform among within iteration either, with some batches having a certain hue that others do not (think of the 15202's earlier serials vs. newer serials, and then later the 16202).

I have heard that the way in which they produce these blue dials has changed over time, switching from galvanization to PVD to create more consistency and reduce rejection rate. This too may affect perception. Whether that is completely true or not I do not know, we would need confirmation from a more reliable source.

At the end of the day, unless you have them in the exact same place under the same or very similar lighting conditions it isn't going to be easy to fairly judge the nuanced differences between the three (or more, depending on individual example) blue shades. Pictures online will only take you so far, as will other people's first-hand experiences that will invariably differ from your own, even in the same circumstance.

Basically

Stop comparing your 500 rep to a 25k watch and enjoy it for what it is - a very well made watch

If you seek gen like dial then there's only 1 option. Buy the gen dial and switch it in.

Now you’re just being unreasonable…
How dare the Chinese sweatshop children not work harder than the Swiss Le Brassus workers! Their small little children fingers should have double the dexterity and therefore double the speed of production for half the cost!

Lol! Real talk though, I think the biggest tell is yourself. As long as you're not going to AP Boutique with your rep or anything like that, you should be fine as long as the rest of your lifestyle is believable.

I am in a position where I can buy gens, but not that well off enough to not cry if my gen gets scratches. Thus I just wear the reps. But I am well off enough that even the watch enthusiasts around me never question the authenticity of my watches.

Somehow I noticed the blue dial on ZF 15450 is even better than one on ZF 15500 V3

Hot damn, it is nice! Too bad I’ve just purchased the black dial ZF 15500. Might as well get this later.

Looks amazing, I still do not know ZF over APSF, but this brings up a good argument as it looks the part.

To those that ordered a ZF 15450 with extra links, how many extra links would be required for a 7 inch wrist? Thanks.
