Where I need to be.
I can't understand why some people are so obsessed about certain reps obtaining "super rep" status? Do they have shares in ZF or Noob or whatever? Would that make you feel better about yourself or what? I don't get it.. Many watches, that are nowhere near being super reps, are actually super nice and feel incredible, even though they aren't on "the list".

Most of the guys want value for the money spent, and of course, the whole point of a replica watch, is to have it replicated as accurately as possible vs the gen counterpart.
A "Super rep" appellation is both subjective and debatable, and has no concrete definition in general. By extension this applies to any "super rep list". I agree with your implicit point that a rep is a rep, and having a member endorse it as a "super rep", or claiming that it is badly made, should not affect the purchase decision of others here. For $500, the royal oak rep is amazing for what it is: a nice watch with a quality feel. The dissensions start only when comparing the rep watch to its gen counterpart, but it does not change the fact that it is a nice looking watch on the wrist.
The wonderful thing about this hobby, is that rep watches may not replicate the gen one feature for feature, but they can definitely still look equally nice on the wrist.

I took my black zf to a dealer that sells AP... They adjusted my band complimenting my wife on her taste.

I checked out the case... Some people's finishing might not match mine, but the dealer couldn't tell.

I'll add I've a iwc and seadweller that have passsed inspection by gen enthusiast friends. This zf blows those others away. Sure... Like any super rep there are tells..., But the test is can someone tell without disassembly or direct comparison.... I think this zf meets that standard. No wishful thinking... Just observation. Perhaps I need an arf v9 sub or a pp nautilus super to compare myself vs gen.... But my zf just passed a real ap dealer"s service....

You shouldn't push your luck too far, really.
Any competent watchsmith or used watch dealer who knows his watches will instantly know that the 15400 is a replica by turning the watch around and looking at the movement.
I agree with you that upon casual inspection the dealer may not recognize it as a replica, but it is bad ethics to bring your replica watches to a genuine watch dealer for their service and then shout about it in the forums. It reflects poorly on yourself and brings a bad name to the hobby. I believe that there are forum rules against this Raddave
Nobody can stop you from doing what you wish to but try to keep it off the rep forums thank you.

I didn't realize this... Thanks. Regardless, point is the watch is a great rep. I'll stick with secondary repair options..

The way you seek self validation is being frowned upon here. Who cares about passing ad test when the connection is between you and how it looks on your wrist. Don't be a perfectionist and just enjoy it.

This rule of not taking reps to ADs is often said to be a ground rule to protect the hobby, to prevent conspicuous activity that increases the intensity of IP protection and law enforcement efforts against this illegal hobby. But it’s also designed to prevent potentially awkward situations... like when ADs know they’re dealing with a rep but don’t want to embarrass a potential or future customer.

Any news if they going to release a white colorway of this? I know it’s not that popular but still my personal favorite..

Honestly gotta go with the black dial of one of these. The blue dial seems hit or miss on hue and the black dial...it’s black. Hard to mess a black dial up.

The ZF blue is really growing on me— it’s neither completely matte nor is it the brilliant metallic blue seen on some AP dials, such as the AP ROO beast. As legend has been saying it resembles the J series 15400ST nicely (his opinion based on ownership, my opinion based on gen pictures and all of the limitations that entails). That is to say it has a nice subtle shimmer, with some sunburst effect under different lights, and a fine engraving pattern in the tapisserie squares (I haven’t counted lines under macro lens). In different kinds of light it goes from being black, to navy, to almost a dark periwinkle under the brightest lights. I find myself looking at the dial throughout the day to see how the colors have changed. Pairs beautifully with anything from navy or French blue cuffs to jeans. Lovely!

Hi, blue dial is great, but what about grey one? Seems that grey dial ZF should be more solid than blue..
Blue is more bright and suitable for special events only, not for everyday use, isn’t it?
