It seems like a lot of Ruby's dials are for gen-spec movements & cases. I asked if any of the Paul Newman's would fit an ST-19 or the 6542 would fit an HR GMT movement but no luck on either. Heavy modifications would be required.

I think all of them are gen spec fitment so unless it's going on a gen movement you need to remove the dial feet

Ruby said 'heavy modification' to fit non gen-spec movements. I'm assuming that's in excess to dial feet. Perhaps shaving as well?

Could be :
1- dial feets positions
2 - dial diameters
3 - date window sizes and positions
4 - subdials positions

1 and 2 can be modded ... more or less easily
3 and 4 ... better forget

Good info. And good question(s) for Ruby.

Ruby dials look exactly like the stuff made by various other sellers. You will need to cut feet on all of them for non gen movements.

Date windows will all line up.

Daytona subdial holes MAY need modding.

1680 dials will NOT fit into cartel cases without shaving.

How do you shave your dials? Do you know how much needs to be removed?

Thanks

I would guess these dials are 26.5mm which is gen spec. Cartel cases take 26mm dials. So you will need to shave .5 in diameter around meaning .25 all around.

I literally use very fine 800 or 1000 grit sandpaper to do it. Any rougher grit you will start chipping the paint on the dial, if its not painted or applied properly.

Fyi 5513 dials are 26MM, so they are a straight fit to cartel cases.

Thanks man, I bought one yesterday and am embarking on putting one in my 1680. At least now I'm not surprised when it doesn't fit[emoji23][emoji23]
