Aqua Terra Gauss from Ali

I have had the AT Gauss on my want list for a while. Just came across one on Ali for $75.00. The link is: http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/...66810.html?spm=2114.12010108.100005.10.KHhdMT.

For this price, I am thinking of pulling the trigger. I have had some good luck and some bad luck with Ali quality (or lack thereof). The dials and cases generally have been good, but in the bad ones, the movements have sucked.

I am trying to decide if this is worth it. I know the case back is all wrong. I am fine with that. My question is if anyone has had experience with this watch or can tell from the pictures what type movement, whether the dial is decent, etc. Thanks.

Look at the clasp and the shape of the links - that's a Planet Ocean bracelet.

I always see that the aliexpress sellers remove the brand logos on their websites. Probably due to copyright reasons. But will they actually ship the watches with e.g. the Omega logo?

The watches do come with the Omega label. I am not worried about the bracelet, as I will be changing to leather or Nato. I have plenty of spares.

Does make u feel a mug paying $250-300 for almost the same orf TD's though. So theres a few minor diff's they still look close and a miyoto movement too by looks as per the TD $270 reps

Based on the pictures it is the old PO bracelet. Which even though you plan not to use is a pain to size as there are pins not screws.

Also, that is not a decorated miyota from V6f so even though the dial looks nice you take your chances with the movement.

See if the seller will send you qc pics and post them here.

For $75.00 it's worth it to take a chance.

It looks to me like a cheap 21j movement, also the date window location is too far inside. But for £52 you can't expect anything that decent.

One of the beauties of the V6f is the crystal and AR. IMHO this is one of the most important things on an AT as it is such a flashy dial. I would not have much faith in that particular seller btw, there are a few comments on the Ali thread, he may not have very good quality stuff. There are really good deals to be had on Ali but there is so much junk too. However you do get to save $200 here but if it turns out to be junk you have lost $75.

Let us know how this turns out. I am a big fan of this watch.

I think my rule of thumb may be, if I want to try it out I go Ali, if it is a have to have I go TD.

One of my favourite reps came from ALi btw.
