Yeah, blue dial and cheap build is not happening then, but for sure it is the greatest

I know, more looking for an older full blue dial like this one

Are you planning to put it on the watch soon?

Please let us know if it fits the APSF, i want a gen bezel also
thanks

I am planning to put it on ZF with custom made white gold screws on the bezel. But since they both are gen spec it should fit on AFPS I am guessing .

I got hold of gen 1 WG screw off ebay my watchsmith who is a Jewller too is trying to make the set for me .

I wanted to get the hands too but it’s kinda out of my budget maybe later if I can find something.

A gen crystal is available with my source but I am not planning to get it as IMO ZF is decent enough

The gen hands will be an awesome upgrade, and a lot more meaningful than the white gold screws for me. My order of importance for gen parts upgrade would be as follows but bear in mind it’s just my opinion. Weightage: 1 RWI member

1. Dial
2. Hands
3. Movement, dw and rotor
4. Everything else

Sometimes, members become fixated on a small detail while ignoring the primary tells. I get that it different guys see what they see. But even if you upgrade all the screws to white gold, the difference will show when screws are brand new but when used over a period of time, the visual difference between WG and stainless steel are less evident. You’ll have a replica 15400 with white gold screws and a host of other tells. How much this is worth is entirely your call of course. But if you’re seeking to build a convincing watch visually do consider getting the major elements in place first before spending on minor upgrades and perhaps deciding the meaningful ones are out of your reach later. Makes sense?

For sure it makes sense but the hands are so rare and expensive ATM is what’s stopping me and maybe if I can source cheaper later someday will definitely upgrade. The WG screws are about 400 with 14k gold which I thought was cheap that’s why was planning to change

As long as you’re happy with your build sir, the rest of the comments from us are just opinions for reference. Nobody knows what you want your watch to be, better than you do.
All the very best.

Hey guys, need a little help
I want to fix a nice modded jf offshore bumblebee but as cheap as possible due to lack of spare watch funds due to my franken 15400 project

I am thinking the following:

-Thinning the caseback( it is possible a thinning by 2mm? The rotor must be removed?)

-mod the base of the hour and minute hands(pizza hands) , white gold plate them and relume

-Replace the dw with a aftermarket better one with modern font

-white gold plate the bezel screws

any more ideas with mods than can be made without going gen would be appreciated

Where I need to be.
There’s no need to plate the bezel screws white gold. Only the G and early H series bees come with WG bezel screws and not always so. (My H series does) The modern ROO bezel screws are all stainless steel.

There is no need to replace the dw either if it’s a JF v2. Else, get the JF v2 cyclop and datewheel.

The ceramic caseback is very very hard to thin. It has a high risk of fracture. If you want, replace the caseback with a stainless steel one and you can thin that.

Hand mod, and tachy trim, and a case refinish and you’re good.

Yes it will fit, and it can be painted black if desired though the gen is PVD coated in black. I do believe that the caseback on my bee is titanium.
