Where I need to be.
6 years in the making…
Just curious why it took so long. Which was the part holding it up? It’s nice always to see old models being revived, keeping the memories alive. I remember guys like zorro and C&W did iterations of this model and it was popular about a decade ago. I see that the dial and hands are gen, good job.
I miss the good old days where offshore frankens were a lot more common and long forgotten guys like slaughterer62 was around and doing interesting builds which were then seen as the epitome of where the hobby can reach. I think your build specs have likely surpassed the LWO283 based ones…
Congrats and wear it well!

Oh, well. The one true issue were the hands. I’d just passed on my set of NOS GP hands to slaughterer62 before getting a lead from a dear friend and old rwi member on the GP dial. Our hobby’s little ironies. So it took a bit more than 6 years to source new hands… I’ll let the photos tell their story.
P.S. that tachy ring and the dw are also gen 🤣

That is around the time I first discovered reps and joined Rwi. I pretty much fell in love with AP and the offshore design immediately!

Damn, I didn’t realize slaughterer disappeared too. You weren’t able to recover your hands?

Oh, didn’t say that, I meant I sold the GP hands set to him as I didn’t need them at that point. What many people in our hobby have been through many times... excitement / purchase / accumulation of unused parts / discontent /
new project / clear-out sale
