Sometimes a few words are better than a thousand pictures?
Again, we all have what we can tolerate. I get it. It's quite pedantic. On wrist it's not an issue.I mean, I get the dots are bigger and closer to the coronet, but looking at realise actual size one on my wrist , I'll be damed if thats going to be of any consequence ever?
Ah I haven’t had my coffee. I was comparing the pictures between Gen and Clean only and not VSF. Could not really see a diff b/t Gen and Clean so was confused but I can def tell on the V.
Don't know how much of value is this as it came years later, but they did fix the crown guards on their seamaster, I got one 2 weeks ago and the CGs are the same with the ZF one I have.Knowing VS they may never fix it. When was the last time VS truly fixed anything? I mean their best seller Seamaster still has the bad case and weak crown tube after 4 years. Their Datejust 41 still has soft and skinny lugs.....
If you're referring to the Seamaster crowns, theres a post here w/ a link to purchase a replacement from AliE. I bought one to have on-hand in case I get the issue on my NTTD Seamaster.Do you have any idea where the best place to get a new crown is?
My VS will be here shortly. Now I'm thinking about an exchange or whether I should sell the watch straight away.
I don't see it eitherMan I just dont see it so I'm going to say not obvious from a cursory glance
What do you see being the issue? I can tell the plastic is still on the crown.... is that it?
I don't think it's a price-drop. I think it's half the price, because they're using a peacock movement, rather than a relatively expensive clone movement.Daytona 126500LN 40mm SS/SS Black Dial SBF DD4802

Price drop to $428. Once VSF cleans it the price will go back up to over $700.
Is the peacock mov't better? So, from what I gather, you get a BETTER movement, better crystal and you get to save 400 euro.
Unless you really care about engravings on your movement, it's really a no-brainer.
It's a legal movement, made by actual watchmakers, properly lubed up and thoroughly tested. Is the peacock mov't better? I'd personally be annoyed by the unidirectional winding... you'll get the dreaded watch wobble when the rotor free spins in the other direction while wearing

From what I understood, the unidirectional rotor function shouldn't be bothersome; you hear it, if you put your ear to it. But of course, this is hearsay - I'll let you know when I receive my sample!
I don't know what the watch wobble refers to.
I'd love to believe you but even the great DD and SH movements found in GMTs and Subs respectively, are often dry where they need to be lubed, greacy where they need to be dry and not properly sealed for water resistance. That is why people who know more than I do, advise to have watches serviced right away when receiving them.IDK who CF has working on the movements but whoever makes these DD / SH movements is as "actual watchmaker" as it gets.
The ‘wobble’ is because the rotor only winds in one direction, which means it free spins in the other direction. It’s something the 7750 is famous for. And I have a few watches with those in. You can feel it - sometimes, if you really try hard. And even then, it’s because of height of the 7750 movement and the weight of the rotor which isn’t a factor here.I don't know what the watch wobble refers to.
Hahah, yeah exactly. I noticed this extra attention to detail from replica enthousiasts. They go so far as to call out imperfections that I see in my gens :OThe ‘wobble’ is because the rotor only winds in one direction, which means it free spins in the other direction. In reality, it’s a nothing burger - just something that watch nerds like to nerd out over. It’s not an actual wobble any more than a sub dial hand which is .2 mm too long is an instant tell from across the room.
What the hell is that logo below 6 marker? Not mini rolex crown there?Nope... Clean's Sub-dial thickness is about as close to Gen an you can get.
.
(Thanks to CTime for providing such good High Resolution Photos to compare so well)
Yeah, I saw that too. No idea what that's supposed to beWhat the hell is that logo below 6 marker? Not mini rolex crown there?
