I bought the Gen in black on black rubber. I'm thinking of buying the rep bracelet. Has anyone tried this? I assume it would be fine, bit would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!
Personally, wouldn't. Even though they'll bend you over. Go to the AD and source it. You've spent £3-4k on a watch... make sure the bracelet doesn't let you down, imagine if it broke how pissed you'd be if your new shiny watch hit the ground or even worse was lost!
However, that said... just approach a trusted dealer here and source the bracelet... it'll be around $150 and if it doesn't fit you can resell it here with ease. As many people buy the rep on the rubber and then also do the same as you.
How are you finding the gen anyway? I've just ordered the rep but thinking of buying the GEN version too! It's a good price for a lot of watch tbh.
Thanks for the advice. I really like it on the rubber, but would like to change it up occasionally. The price on the gen bracelet is ridiculous, so I think I'll try the rep bracelet.

Had mine just over a week and I'm very happy with it. Not sure how close it is to gen but seems to be a very well made rep. May even consider getting the gen if the price is right!
This is a lovely specimen! NWBIG in my humble opinion. How is the movement and the crown? Does it feel firm or flimsy?
Thanks, I'm losing around 3s/day which is excellent compared to my arf dj41. The crown seems pretty solid to me, noticed it had the red seal like gen too. At this price point I think it would be almost criminal to complain about the quality given what's present.

I agree, thank you! Bezel looked a bit off but looks better in 2nd pic...just the camera angle.

To those talking about putting rep bracelets/straps on a gen, the rep rubber feels much closer to gen than does the rep bracelet to gen bracelet. Mind you, my experience is rather limited. And I was rather enamored with the gen bracelet the one (and only) time I tried it on- and I am also extremely finicky with bracelet feel/presence. However, I did swing for a gen clasp and I do find that that made a world of difference.
VSF did a really good job with their rubber strap.
for anyone shopping the gen versions, there are some seriously good deals to be had now where bracelet versions are selling for same or even less than rubber strap versions were pre-coronavirus. I'd say spring for one and source the rubber strap later, hands down. Bracelets are rather expensive!
