I really hope V7F also released a rep micro adjust clasp. With two links taken out, the bracelet is a little too tight. With one link taken out, the bracelet is a little too loose. I wish there was a half link I could take out but unfortunately nope. A micro adjust clasp would've been perfect and there's no way I'm spending $500+ for a gen clasp!
Yes, the V7 Ingenieur bracelet is not the easiest one to get a good fit on the wrist.
You are able to locate a gen clasp with micro adjustment? Where?

My two cents - just received my V7 black:

- overall it is a nice watch
- currently found "flaws" which I see with my piece:

1. Bracelet looks ok, some sharp edges on the links as well as on th clasp - will try to fix it + standard oil bath
2. Misalignment of the date window / date disc - will try to fix it (will use gen eta 2892, align the dial position)
3. Marker at 3 oclock crooked - not easy to fix, let's see how the marks are done when I remove the dial
4. Hands and minute markes show marks on them - not visible with the naked eye but I would expect better quality from the brand new watch

My plan:

- use gen eta 2892 high grade
- clean / polish hands
- clean / polish dial markers
- align the date window
- soften the sharp edges on the mid case, bracelet and clasp
- oil batch for the bracelet
- swiss gaskets and greasing
- regulate, waterproof

The date weel alignment is not simple to fix at all.
Usually it happens because of the printing, not much you can do, unless you want to use the rep date wheel as overlay but that's also not easy at all.

Finishings are a bit disappointing judging from your pics, agreed.

Please keep us posted about the progress of your DW mod!

Agreed, if it is a bad printing, not much to do about it. However in my case it seems that most date positions sit a bit lower in the window. In this case it helped in several other cases to bend the dial feet a bit in the right direction.
Gen ETA 2892 on the way to me.
I will post any updated here.

Interesting, yes you can try to shift the dial a bit downward. Won't affect the centering of the dial, not significantly at least.

I believe most IWC boutiques will be able to source you one. People with gen Ingenieurs also have the same complaint about the bracelet being difficult to size. IWC has launched a clasp for them but it's kinda expensive I believe. I saw a post somewhere say it was like $520 (can't remember if it is USD or CAD).

Sucks that they didn't replicate the rotor correctly but looks like the "magnetic cover" looks wrong as well, going by what someone else posted earlier. Good thing it's a closed case back.

be glad, because it would fucked up the movement (I am pretty sure the rotor would be not heavy enough and pr would be minimal). :)

The surgery continues :)

Here are some additional observations:

1. Crown tube / corwn sealing - there is a single poor quality and very thin oring on the tube - there is no tight connection between the crown and tube when pushing the crown on the tube. Plus there are no gaskets in the crown. I think it must be leaking when put into the water. I will definitely use thicker greased oring on the tube and potentially also add one gasket to the crown bottom (need to check if it fits there)

2. Dial looks very nice - those marks on some indices are easy to clean with a piece of rodico, so all good :)

3. Hands have also some marks but same as for indices - should be possible to clean with the rodico

4. Crooked marker at 3 oclock - well this one is not easy - I will try to push it out from the back side (2 posts holding it) and align it. Not sure what glue / epoxy they use. Did the same this with some rlx / omega dials so let's hope it works here too

Once I get the high grade 2892 I will start putting it together. In the meantime need to work on the sharp edges on the mid case, bracelet, fix the 3 oclock marker and clean hands and markers.

Small update - as expected it was leaking around the tube / crown - by replacing the gasket on the tube and adding a new one to the bottom of the crown and greasing them, it easily passed 4 bar test. I also repalced the caseback gasket with a good quality one.

Finished - and it is really beautiful. To sum it up:

- swiss eta 2892 used
- markers and hands cleaned and polished
- dial adjusted - date window / date disc
- gaskets replaced / added and greased - tube, crown, caseback
- waterproof tested for 5 bar
- crooked marker at 3 oclock fixed
- mid case sharp edges removed
- bracelet and clasp sharp edges removed
- bracelet and clasp oil bath

The look and feel is really nice and very smooth - winding, crown screw / unscrew, bracelet, clasp,….

And now let’s wait for some gen parts to upgrade it to franken :)

Congrats! (y)(y)

A gen dial wouldn't be bad at all (more for other colors to be honest, black looks very accurate as it is) but I am afraid we would need to cut the dial feet.
