Thanks!
Your watch looks stunning best one i've seen in this thread color wise, mine seems to be leaning more into the aqua side.
Do we think v7f have updated the dial and we are just now witnessing it? v3?
I assume it is due to lighting too. I'll get some photos in the sunlight and post it here. Its probably just the different lightings
Same here. One half of the clasp pops out without issues. The other remains stuck and I have to pull it out. I saw people complaining about the clasp breaking and now I can see why.+ the clasp on the 6 Hour side is a bit "stiff" on mine. The other side moves very well but for the 6 hour side I have to use a bit of force to "open" it.
It's a good watch. I'm not very happy with the feel of the bracelet. Does feel cheap. I have VSF/ZF/BP/GF reps (Sub, Omega WT, SMP300, Breitling Navitimer World, SOH etc). They all have better bracelets. I'm hoping an oil bath will help reduce the jangly feel. I'll also try and smoothen the edges.
And I wish the clasp had micro adjust. I removed two links and it's a little tight. If I only remove one link, it's a little loose. I can't seem to get the perfect fit without the micro adjust clasp.
It also wears much smaller than the dimensions suggest. It's a very comfortable watch. Wrist shots make it look big on my small wrists. Mirror shots make it look small.
Exactly this! I remember when I got the VSF Omega WT, I wasn't happy with the bracelet at all. I experienced a gen WT bracelet at the boutique and realized the VSF wasn't that bad at all, especially for the price. And right now, I've been wearing my IWC for a bit and the bracelet feels nice. It's a very comfortable watch for sure.Bummer about the bracelet. It is a beautiful watch. Sometimes I feel like a new watch (or strap) doesn’t quite feel right when I first put it on because it’s new and I want it to be perfect. But, after I wear it a bit, at least for me, I realize that it just wears a little different, not necessarily better or worse that my other watches.
Hoping something like that works out for you with this. Again, it is a real looker.
Gen has that metal cover under the case back to protect the movement from magnetic fields. I wonder if the rep has it too. Too lazy to open it right now but I might check to see if it's there.Curious to know if the case construction is close to gen. I doubt but you never know.
Other Iwc reps come generally with that cover.Gen has that metal cover under the case back to protect the movement from magnetic fields. I wonder if the rep has it too. Too lazy to open it right now but I might check to see if it's there.
All V7 reps cases close to Gen molds they have , i showed comparison case and bracelet match and interchangeable with Genuine , only doubt about aqua dial under different lighting.Curious to know if the case construction is close to gen. I doubt but you never know.
I'd love to see the comparison. My aqua rep is on the way.I went to the AD yesterday to check it out in person. Unfortunately, they said IWC didn't want a spot in their new flagship store and hence, they aren't dealers anymore. Sucks because I guess I have to go to Chicago, which is the closest and like 1.5 hours way. When I get my aqua, I'll pay them a visit and see if I can get pics of both watches. Or at least see if the difference is obvious to an untrained eye like mine.
Speaking of "nailing" gen issues, I was worrying about the 3 o'clock baton on my V7 being a little bit crooked. So it would appear that v7f really nailed it with this replication!
The crystal is flat.Speaking of "nailing" gen issues, I was worrying about the 3 o'clock baton on my V7 being a little bit crooked.
Then I went to Chrono24 to check against the gen IWCs. There's no way that's the curvature of the glass, right? Almost all of the 3 o'clock batons are crooked. Whose job it is at the IWC factory to put the short little guy on!? Or maybe they're just all reps being sold as gens
Give your bracelet an oil bath. Like I mentioned. Mine has the same issue too. The clasp at the 6 o clock side wouldn't come out unless I pulled it out (the other end would fall freely when I pushed the lock buttons on the clasp). After giving it an oil bath, both ends fall off freely when I press the clasp buttons in. It doesn't get stuck anymore.+ the clasp on the 6 Hour side is a bit "stiff" on mine. The other side moves very well but for the 6 hour side I have to use a bit of force to "open" it.
Eagle eye! Haha. Did the factory get ahold of an early blueprint or something? The crystal is flat.
My watch also has a crooked 3 o clock marker but I know I won't notice it on the wrist (and I can't). That's why I GLed the watch with the issue.
Also regarding the dial issues (V1 vs V2). Someone has posted a photo of the IWC Ingenieur all dismanteled above. The dial in that has the issue that the "V1" watches had!
