With all due respect, I think we'll just have to agree to disagree. Your pic of your ZZF was not a close up shot and could still be picked out as a ZZF. Personally, I can tell no difference without magnification between my gen and ARF. Not from visual, not from feel and not from the bracelet, clasp, or glidelock movement. I don't believe the ARF V3 is as easy to spot as you state it is. I even took some caliper readings on the lugs before typing this note and they are nearly identical to the gen. The only thing I can tell without magnification is some of the date fonts on the DW seem a bit too large. Not all, just a few. Maybe you received a bad one which is why you don't think the ARF is as good as a ZZF? To me, the instant giveaway on the ZZF is the crown guards and the double X rehault. I don't need an ARF and ZZF side by side to notice that double X.
I personally believe it might be possible for one to mix up non magnified pics of an ARF with a gen (again, non magnified like your first pic) and not know which is which. From a magnified pic, I'm sure you could pick out the ARF. But even with my magnified pics of the crown guards and bezel it is hard to tell a difference between the two from those shots.
Bottom line, both watches are great reps. They both have flaws and the end user must decide which flaws they can live with the most. It's a great time for rep purchasers as there are some very good choices for us to chose from. I think this is something we do agree on.
