I just ordered an sub zzf v2 from Jtime and seen the Tudor on their page as well. Fell in love with it, more than with the submariner to be honest. Hopefully Li has the V2 of the Tudor there so I order both. Got even more hyped thanks to this review. Now the waiting game starts.

I think I can live with these imperfections for the price. This helped me decide on my order today.
Thanks for the review.

So after wearing the ZF v2 Black Bay 58 for just over a week and the gen for about a month, here is my review on how it fares to the gen.

Bracelet
Let’s start with the bracelet, its decent and fits just like the gen. Looks very close to the gen including the tapered fit, the rivets on the side of the bracelet are close to the gen but appear to be slightly smaller. However one thing to note is the bracelet rattles. Not something you would notice when the watch is on your wrist however if it’s off your wrist and you shake it ? It rattles and sounds kinda cheap. The clasp gap is an issue I’ve seen brought up a few times. Mine does a have gap bigger than the gen but I don’t think it’s very noticeable unless you really look at it.

Hey RepJunkie, what I’m dying to know is, can the ZF v2 bracelet fit on the gen BB58 ? If you don’t know this, is there anyway you could try and see if the endlinks on the rep bracelet fit the lugs on the gen watch and more importantly, do the spring bar holes line up between the end links and the lugs?

if anyone else happens to know this, I’d love to know!

thanks in advance :p

Nice review!

I haven't had the chance to really compare my ZF V2 and gen closely, but I think there are a couple of other differences.

The ZF is thicker than the gen. On the ZF, there is also a chamfer cut into the inner tip of the lugs for clearance of the rivet head on the bracelet. And lastly, for some reason the gen fits better than the ZF. The gen wears very nicely. The ZF is either just a tad too snug for me, or too loose (3 micro-adjust points isn't quite enough). Not sure exactly why the 2 wears differently, will go check on it soon.

Hey shortlegs, do you still have the ZF and the gen? I really need to know if the ZF bracelet will fit on the gen BB58. Did you ever try this or is there some way you can find out?

Hey man, unfortunately I no longer have the rep nor the gen anymore. I assume you want to get the rep bracelet for the gen BB58?

I would really love to buy this rep, but the color of the lume on the hands and hour markers is an instant tell.
It's very obvious on the very first picture. And it seems like there will not be a V3...otherwise it would have been already released.
It's actually surprising, considering the hype about the BB58.

Yea, I got the gen on the fabric but really want the bracelet. I’ve been quoted $700US and a 3 month wait which is nuts. I was just hoping their was some kind soul out there with both a rep and gen who could try the Rep bracelet on the gen watch.

As it turns out out I took a chance and ordered just the bracelet from Ryan @ InTime for $85 and he said even he wasn’t sure if it would work but was pretty interested in me giving him and update.

The end links are seperate so even if the fit isn’t great maybe I can get the tools out or something.

‘The irony is if this works, I’ll prob just use the Rep bracelet to tide me over until Rolex get their shit together and allow me to spend money with them.

I just can believe I am the first one to try and do this given the expense and scarcity of the gen bracelet.

Movement
Runs on A2824, easy and cheap to fix and maintain. Is it close to the gen ? Not a chance, its louder, has a lower power reserve and has a date complication which is hidden and only noticeable when you pull out the stem. But hey, this is a rep and your probably already knew that. If movement is a big deal to you, you’re probably better off getting a gen.

RepJunkie How would you rate the movement considering this if regards to being noisy? Would you say it is a dead give away the watch is a rep both off and on the wrist because of the rotor noise? Or is it not noticeable?

May I answer that tho, I couldn't hear the movement noise on this one and when compared to my noob pam111 the latter is way louder. But however the giveaway imo is the wobbly clasp, it makes noises and the gap is quite big. Making the whole watch sounds cheap and feels cheap. You may consider replacing it with an after market strap instead.

Just like that I cannot tell if this is gen or rep. Gen I presume. If it's the rep then I don't see an issue. I picked up my Gen from the AD yesterday and collecting this rep tonight to wear. I do that to all my collection watches where possible. I dont mind wearing a rep as I know I have the gen in the safe.. :) And let's be honest, no one is going to point it out...

I have one, it’s a little noisy most of the time not noticeable . dead give away? Probably not, who are you going to come across who’s committed the sound (or not) of a gen tudor BB58 to memory.

Thanks for the feedback. Had the Tudor S&G earlier with the same movement but that movement had an issue. The BB58 uses the same movement right? But it has the faux date set when you pull out the crown to set the time?

What do you think about the clasp of the bracelet? In mine it is a bit loose and gives the feeling that it opens easily.
