I am talking about this guy
I guess he compares VSF to gen because number "3" is different on VSF. And he points out its not similar to gen.
Also he pointed out "not enough AR coating on "Cyclop".
With regard to the “3,” he’s talking about the font. Which, in my opinion, even if someone is showing it to you from their wrist up close, this would be really hard to tell. The difference between overall reflectivity/glare is negligible, if even present at all. I have friends who have the gen and honestly the only thing I can tell, when we are talking about VSF, is that the bezel insert is more saturated on the gen and oystersteel finish (almost impossible to replicate the oystersteel “sheen”). I’m obsessed with this model, I’m on a waiting list and plan on getting it at retail. So I’ve studied this piece enough as a consumer genuinely interested in it. Unless you want to sell it as genuine, even people who have the real thing won’t be able to tell the difference, unless your a well-well informed RWI member.
It’s how the watch interacts with light, which is relevant for most reps. Colors are very specific. In most cases it would be hard to tell unless you have something to compare it to. But for this model, since I have seen it in almost every environment, I would be able to tell from the bracelet and insert, which is easy to spot. VSF is very close. Oystersteel’s composition is specific, unless it’s produced exactly as is, no one can 100% replicate the finish because it’s apples and oranges. Their SELs are also flawless. Although I have seen some with one corner not conoletely equal to the others. Shadows really enhance the effect so, I personally focus a lot on SEL. Things that’s are within my control for the rep. The only people who focus on these things are people on this forum which is a very small percentage of the world, I wouldn’t worry at all. Very well informed RWI members, even smaller percentage. I would say 2% of members.
The cyclops isn’t necessarily a product of how much. The reflection on the cyclops, which all will have, is never “colorless.” It’s either has an undertone of red or blue. You can tell when looking at reflections of light sources. Even things that have cooler temperatures I.e., 5k LED/blue sky, will come across as “warm” on red. These will come across as white with the blue unless it’s literally blue. But again, I wouldn’t worry about it because 126610 versions also have the blue undertone tint with a smaller percentage of the batches.
Personally, I would be pissed at these YouTubers if I had a gen with blue undertone. Really pissed actually.
Unless your Patek, even Rolex and most luxury brands are not perfect.
Hope that helps. VSF is great!
