Watchoholic, what paint and mix have you settled for? I've got Testors and Martha Stewart lined up.
I could not get my hands on Anitas, I thinned out Marthas with acrylic thinner and tested it out, it is just way too silver.
I am using Testors mixed with white Testors, thinned out and then sealing it with Dullcoat afterwards, I am hopefully receiving my last shipment of inserts today and i will be posting a video/pics soon of my process. I apologize for the delays, just been super busy and waiting on china mail, but you are all gonna shit when i post pics!
Furthermore its a lot of prep work and i want to do the inserts in large batches.
Guys, you have to strip the old paint off, as you can see in Agents pics he has the rounded out transitions and the numbers are just filled with too much material. Furthermore, there are dark spots. This is all because of the brush and the way the paint flows. You have to to be and artist with a brush and that i am not. Hats off to Pilworx! The airbrush is the way to go.
Also it is a must to pull the insert and pearl off the watch. It is easy, i mention it on the previous page i believe. You just dip the watch in hot water and twist the insert. Go to amazon and buy the 2mm iPad tape to put the insert back on and epoxy for the back side of pearl.
