It drops right in. Just remove all the hands first and slowly and gently pry the dial off the movement with a screwdriver - working around slowly.1E329CF5 F47A 45EA BE61 B579B6B63FE2

Do you have the tools to press the hands on? You do not need a lot of pressure- do the hour hand after the sub hands then test if it moves with the crown before placing the minute hand.
Alright, time to start figuring out how we're gonna swap DHgate BPxSwatch Fifty Fathoms reps into a aliexpress case
Took one of the less accurate Neptunes I had for another build- Corgeut case, Barton watch bands canvas strap, Esslinger sweep and sub hands
Hi, excuse my ignorance as I’m new to this, but would this build work with a legit moonswatch? How easy is it to take the back off?Ok sooo was tinkering today on how I was going to hold the movement in place while I wait on my replacement PE50 from Ali to get here so I can adjust the stem legnth and had a *duhhhhhhhhhhh* movement. Turns out the movement holder supplied with the case fits the PE50... PERFECTLY. No modification. I thought I was going to have to shave down the height and then I put on the caseback and it fit around it perfectly. Soooo this goes from easy to EASY PEASY. End result freaking SLAPS for ~60 bucks.
Needed:
1. Ali Case 40mm "Case 1-Black": https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256804707033900.html - 27.00
2. Ali PE50 Spare Movement (used to harvest stem off of) - 9.00
3. DHGate Moonswatch of Choosing (This build shows Mission to the Moon) - 27.00
4. Strap/Braclet of your choosing. I put it on a Chevron Stone strap - 20mm: https://www.crownandbuckle.com/chevron-adjustable-stone.html - 32.00
Initital casing and checking of height with original movement holder from Ali case *note I did not re-use the brushed trim ring around the dial from the original watch. It technically fits but with the domed crystal you can't really see it anyway and I thought it would just add the potential for something to shift/rattle around inside*:

*ANYONE* is capable of doing this build no matter your skill level. Highly recommend it as the end result has really won me over and it's a fun, fast, project with unlimited customization combinations possible.
Well we got reps for the BlancpainxSwatch on ali starting to trickle in and corgeut has a 45mm case, anyone know the dimensions on the reps? would be a cool next step in the metal mod.

oooh - I'd be interested in attempting this when we've got some insight on sizes - I've just finished modding my Mission to Mercury and, for a first attempt from someone used to swinging hammers on land rovers more than modding watches, I'm quite pleased
For those who panic and think they have stuffed up the subdial position and the second hand.... pull the crown out all the way and use the top and bottom pushes to advance the dial/second hand back to the top
I use some 3M velcro strips to hold the movement - I used the original black movement holder from the moonswatch and not the white one that came with the case
I also unscrewed the original plastic crown and was able to simply screw the new metal crown onto the original thread

wore the metal moonswatch today whilst working and couldn't stop staring at it - something about the blatant fact that it's a moonswatch... but better - there's an irony to it that I love - next up though, another moonswatch (maybe in a bolder colour like Neptune) or a 50th fathoms metal case mod???

pondering doing the same with the BP Swatch but hesitating over quartz movement and if a mechanical may come out in the future - I did find a case on Ali X that have the option for a couple of different movements, one of which Miyota which I saw somewhere (can't recall where) the quartz ones are so in theory .... should work .... may give it a month or so to see what the watches come through like but may help someone braver than me .
EDIT: have gone ahead and ordered this and a BP Swatch (Antarctic as had blue hands) - will see how badly I mess this up

been monitoring. No one has shown a tear down on the bpxswatch yet to see if it can even be removed nevermind the dimensions. Really like this build, I've just ordered a dh gate moonswatch and will sort a rep speedmaster case.
I bought a moonswatch from another seller on dh gate and although it has a p50 movement it's missing a hand and the spindle for adjusting the time fell out. Is the only way to get a spare p50 spindle to buy a complete movement?

I think so, but then a complete movement is a couple of £/$/€ so not bad - good luck with the build!
Update to say I’ve now got the bp swatch! Waiting for the rep metal case and then will tear into it and show internals
