I'm going to use a 2671. Either in a gen case or if I find another an okay aftermarket one.

But I think @dpd3672 might be using an NH05 in gen case.
There are aftermarket cases on ali, but they are cosmetically bigger than genuine rolex 26mm, and you will not be able to change the crown for gen, and won't be able to change the bezel as its fused to the case unfortunately. But it will look nice

Yes, my builds use a NH05 movement. I haven't done anything with a 2671, yet.
Amazing, this is what I was looking for, did you use the space holder that is posted in this forum? The 3d print file I mean.

@TonyMontana Woohoo! I'm glad you got such a nice case from a guy!!! That's awesome. Thanks for the super pics.
I'll try not to write too much because I am the 2671 guy, and I'm not using an NH05 like you plan to. But I used a case temporarily from italy for 2671 (for about 15 dollars) and it came with a nice plastic movement holder inside. So I plan to reuse that 2671 movement holder in a gen case perhaps, if it will fit nicely. Otherwise I'm going to use those rubber gaskets that were in an earlier post haha.

@TonyMontana You can always change a crown for gen. Just drill out the tube area and place a new tube and crown hey. Are you able to find NH05 hands that are good enough for your build though? I think hands are the difficult part. It is why I have chosen 2671 because I know i can order 2671 GMF hands for 28mm DJ and file them shorter you see. I hope you find nice hands man!

That $15 case from Italy sounds intresting 😅 do you have pics?

I would consider the 2671 but it's alot more expensive than the nh05, I found clone 2671 for about $120, is this a good price or expensive? As a nh05 goes for about $50.

For hands I'm not really bothered to be honest it's such a small watch that I don't think it will be obvious that the hands are not gen rolex, they are available on aliexpres, to be honest everything is available there except the 26mm replica case.

You probably don't even need to think about overlays because your mum isn't going to notice if it's not 100% rolex font under a bloomin' magnifying glass. Even with the cyclops in place, the date on the 26mm is TINY. Jheez.

Yes, there are some photos earlier in the thread comparing the gen cases to the AliX ones. They're nice cases for the price, but are a bit thicker/bigger than the 26mm gen cases...they might be intended to rep the 28mm cases, I'm not sure.

The bezels do snap off, if you push them out from behind. They seem to be a friction fit and have a rubber o-ring to seal the case. The case backs are a direct fit to the 26mm cases, however, which is a nice option if you source a 26mm case and don't have a back.

I'm going to build up one of the AliX cases in the next couple days and post some side by side photos for comparison.

I remember you writing that the 26mm aliexpress casebacks fit SOME of the gen cases. And I thought, dang, I wish that they all fit each other for sure so I could buy a gen case without caseback and put the aliexpress one on, with confidence that it will fit. Knowing my luck I would buy a gen case with no back and nothing will fit haha. ;)

Can't wait to see it, good luck and please take some pictures whenever you can during the process.

I wouldn't risk it to be honest.

Just to confirm a 2135 rlx genuine date disc, for 26mm (they make em for 28mm too, so don't pick up one of those in error) with all the middle removed with a knife, and sanded nicely. Then placed on a 2671 ETA movement, allows for all numbers to be well centred.

I read all that really helpful information about crowns at the beginning of this thread, but I wasn't sure if the information was being applied to the aliexpress cases. My query is does a gen 5.3mm crown fit on a gen case tube please?

So I know some of your have housed their ETA2671 movement in a gen case that used to house a 2135 movement. Does anyone know if a genuine case that used to house a 2030 would line up at the stem. The 2030 is slightly bigger in depth measurement but just by a fraction. It's difficult to tell.

2135 movement: 20,0mm x 5,90mm
2030 movement: 20,0mm x 5,40mm

Ah it's the 2135 that is slightly bigger in depth. But by just a whisker, half of a millimeter. I wonder if a case for 2030 movement would also work. Or if I'll end up too limited for space

Perhaps an Oyster Perpetual case is way off target. I'll keep hunting..

I found longer (perfect 'genlike' length) hour and minute hands on ebay if anyone needs them for 2671 movement.

I'm having trouble securing a dial to ....well just the fraction of space on the movement. Persist we shall. But man, this is incredibly difficult.
I've just used a dremel to reshape a movement holder that I'd found within my 15 buck italian case (I discarded the useless case). And we have a better working product but boy oh boy is this tricky. You guys weren't kiddin ;)

Sorry for writing so much garbage in this thread. I'll update when I have something more important to share. Like a finished product!
