Is it possible to add a leather strap to the dd40?

Yes it's possible but if you want it to have matching end links they would most likely need to be custom made bc the dd40 uses a new 2 piece end link and I doubt they make them separately for a leather strap.

Also, is it doable without the end links?

Versaceboy, do you think there is enough of a gap space between the case back and the movement on the DD40 to have a watchmaker adhere a thin osmium or tungsten disk to the case back to increase the weight of the watch?

Yes with out endlinks it's much easier and any of the strap guys on the forum can make you a strap for it bc it attaches with regular spring bars like every other watch. They would just need the measurements and your good to go.

I don't know if there is room to do that but in my opinion the case isn't the issue. It already has weight bc of the movement. It's the light and flimsy bracelet that is the main problem so adding more weight to the case will only make the watch feel more top heavy (and it already is) and the bracelet will still feel like shhit.

Yes this may help add weight overall but we really need a way to add weight to the bracelet.

Your point is well taken. I can see how the extra weight added to the case would make it too heavy. I know you described the difference in weight between the plated and wrapped versions you have owned, does the wrapped version feel more substantial on the wrist?

I don't know if I would use the word substantial to to describe how it feels bc in reality the weight difference is not that much.

I know I've said this before but the best way to describe the difference in feel between the plated and wrapped versions would be to say the plated version is top heavy, practically all of the weight is from case bc of the movement and dial etc. which leaves a light and flimsy bracelet. Now with the wrapped version the weight feels more evenly distributed through out the whole watch so the bracelet doesn't feel as light and the watch feels very solid on the wrist.

PS . I just want everyone to understand that I'm not knocking the plated version they are both really amazing watches and all of this is really just my opinion so please feel free to disagree. This is a forum after all :)

Guys I don't think this "EF" is the same as "EW" bc when looking at the pics in greater detail the endlinks don't even appear to be of the new updated 2 piece kind that the dd40 has.

I see the card says 40mm but the endlinks are wrong. They are using the old style bracelet that the dd II used.

If you compare the pics of the "EF" to "EW" you can see they are different. Noob,BP and EW have the correct 2 piece endlinks and this "EF" doesn't.

The pics aren't 100% clear but what do you think?

Hey,

The EF watch is a slightly older watch.
I got it while in China. Was just doing a comparison with the EW.
If you look at the card it clearly says EF, but you did make mention of EWF which
kinda makes me wonder. The watch might be the older model for the EW it only makes sense.
Thanks for the information Ill use TapTalk and take some clearer photos.
I also picked up the 39mm 2017 oyster which seem to be a pretty nice quality watch
so I will upload those and pick up a scale :) to weigh the band
