I don't know much about movements but I'm fairly certain there is no yuki like equivalent for these type of watches unfortunately bc these need a day function.

I think 2834 and 2836 are basically the same movement so you should be able to use a 2836 which I think would be your best option. They are also relatively easy to find online and not overly expensive.

I would just double check with a modder or watch smith to make sure that it's a direct swap but it should be. I know my day date 40 has one and it's the same case.

I hope this helps

Thanks again! You've got a real wealth of knowledge on this DD40, and it really is quite helpful.

One more question. Do you know if these watches accept any gen movements, or who might know (if you know anyone specific)? Like 3055, 3155, 3156, or 3255?

I was just wondering, how do these DD 40's wear as compared to a subc? I had a V7 sub and I always just felt it was a little small for me for a sport watch. I'm just wondering if these wear any bigger or smaller vs a sub. Also if anyone has measured what is the lug to lug length of the watch.
Thanks!

Your very welcome! Glad to help :)

That's a good question. I'm not sure if this case can accept a gen. movement id ask one of the modders like misiekped or stradda. They are good with building and fixing rolex.

I don't think anyone has direct side by side pics of the gen in rose gold vs the wrapped rose gold like there are for the YG version but there are separate pics in this thread of a gen rose gold and wrapped rose gold which you could copy and do a side my side comparison.

These are more comfortable to me, but will wear smaller than a sub.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Noob has finally released their version of the Yellow Gold DD40.

Unfortunately they seem to have the same issues as the stainless versions have. For the dials that have lume sticks, they just reused or copied the Date Just II dial markers so the lume sticks are way to fat. BP still has the better and more accurate dials.

Also, going by the few pics and videos I've seen most have very bad day and or date wheel alignments but Its possible it's just a QC issue and can vary from watch to watch.

As for the plated gold color, (the most important thing to me!) I can't tell if one is more accurate then the other without seeing some comparison pics in natural light. However, If your looking for the closest to gen. gold color I still say confidently that the BP 18k Wrapped is the one to get but it's very expensive.

All in all, I still think BP is the best way to go if you want a DD40. This is just my opinion of course!

Has anyone replaced the bezel on their BP DD40. I'm thinking about doing a fantasy mod, by replacing a beveled bezel with a smooth one. There was thread by @Strodda on doing this on his BP DJ II, but I'm not sure if it would be the same for the BP DD40. I'm particularly on the bezel removal and reinstalling procedures. Thanks.

It definitely can be removed and reinstalled with no issues. I had my xstal recently swapped for a 2ar so the bezel needed to be removed and reinstalled for this.

If your planning to use a BP DD40 smooth bezel which they make for some of the stainless versions, it should fit but If its not from BP you may run into some issues because sometimes these rep cases aren't 100% gen spec size so a gen part or a part from another maker will need to be modded for it to fit correctly.

Thank you @Versaceboy54 for the helpful information you have provided. Another question or two if I may, do you know how the bezel was removed and how it was reinstalled. Are the bezels affixed to the case by an adhesive and if so what kind of adhesive? Oh and yes, I plan to use a smooth bezel from BP for the DD40. Thanks again.
