you're right but a rep service shouldn't cost as much as a gen service. It is a fact that repairing an asian 2824/2836 is cheaper than repairing a 3135 clone, as is replacing it with a new movement. not all consumers want to spend that much money on a rep, buying gen parts to install. And let us remember that even a Franken is always a replica; a super replica but always replica.

IMHO thats the best i read there actually.
We are always running to find perfect rep , forgetting that after couple of hours from delivery we are already into Gen Parts section looking around for DW, Crystal, Hands and so on.

Even an "hardly Franken" is still a rep, so maker should learn a lot from customers , as they are an huge wallet part :)

Tell them to take their time... 2 weeks more is less than the usual shipping time but changing a bad product is worse!

And please... focus on a perfect rehaut engraving :( it cannot be resolved/frankened in any other way than by the factory!

ZF already did a good job on the rehaut on their 116610 line, AR will also update the rehaut in the coming V4 116610, this is a 41SUB thread btw :)

If u in touch with ARF than please talk about their weird Datewheel too.
Maybe they need to change their supplier.
Also it's better to use the VR movements in their clone movement watches.
Just my 2 cents! ;)

puretime Angus, it sounds like you already have a good idea of which one is going to be the best OOTB, or at least you have a favourite. But that favourite is not RXF/V6F with the new VS3135 movement coming in a week. You may have already had a sneak peak at the new versions. Although every factory will make updates, even with the new ZZF v3 and ZF models coming shortly as well, you seem to lean more towards ARF or ZF. Are they providing a better watch overall, with better details, quality, etc? RXF looks really good to me, but I am no expert here... Cost is going to be a factor for some people, but if you want the premium rep, you will have to pay the price and I am okay with that.

Of course, we have yet to see the final releases and results from these factories to be fair, but that crystal and black hole effect...

everyone has his preferences. it's normal. I bet everything on ZZF also for the new Sub

I was originally leaning towards the ZZF V2 at first but then held off after reading that they were going to release a new V3 version. Then after reading the review of RXF and looking at the pictures, it seems that it has a better dial and bezel insert, and crystal with the black hole effect, compared to current models. Also a new 'improved' movement and also costing less $$$.

I haven't seen or handled any of them first hand so I am going by what I am reading and what everyone else and the experts are saying.

Just wondering if I am missing something here...

Nearer than you think
VSF already fixed this though. Their crystal is absolutely top notch, and I'd stake my reputation on it being equivalent to gen, bearing in mind some gens have a blue tint and some don't.

I'd rather see it in person before saying that much, it's not uncommon that they show a good prototype and then they fuck up the rest of the batches. So I won't believe in a good crystal until i see one.

I hope ZF, VSF, and all the factories who are working on both the new and the old sub will step up their game for real and do something that's actually worth the money they ask

(ex. noob with that piece of trash timebomb movement in their GMT and they ask basically as much as their daytona)

This thread is about the 41sub my friend.

I do have my favourites, but my favourite has nothing to do with the reality.

We have handled all the watches, photos can trick your eyes and trust no one but yourself.

When all the "Final Editions" are out and I will do a comprehensive review on all of them.

I don't want to be a downer again, but we are up to v11 (or V10?) for Noob now for the 116610 so I think it will be around 3-4 yrs before people here thinks the flaws are acceptable for this new verison. My money for the first flaws are the case shape, bracelet and possible the bezel size and finish (minus the insert as we all know there isn't any out of the box ones which is decent enough compared to spongebob).
