no you will need to remove the stem, drill and tap the hole and fit a get tube for a gen crown IIRC
Ah I see, I thought I remembered it was a direct fit in his datejust cases and was hoping it was the same.

I like the overpolished look old watches often have. They get it even by cleaning them with cloth during the years. So I polish the lugs too

The tropical dials are tricky. it seems like getting the right shade of brown/caramel to end up with a pleasing colour tone is hard to do. 369mafia is getting real close though, i would like to try one of your dials when youre' ready. The more i look at my raffles dial maybe the biggest flaw is that it's just too crisp and well lumed....

I liked this dial in a very dark brown that i passed on a while back..

Lug process on the AliExpress case

The thread for the case back is way better than the raffle one, I was afraid with the hole position on the lug but after lot of file, it is ok

I worked this one to go overpolished one, I remove lot of material underneath the lug to round the lug a maximum

To be precise one lug is reworked, the other are for see the initial state, sadly the alliexpress case is no more

After much effort and some failure I have finally somewhat put together a decent build. Very rough around the edges but I'm proud.
Raffles case that I reshaped and drilled the holes for 2mm spring bars, broke 2 bits trying to drill them open
NH38 movement.
I'm waiting on a new dial in since I screwed up the aging on this dial and I'm also waiting for a raffles skinny crown.

I baked it in coffee grounds, I suspect I left it in too long since the coffee left stains on the dial that didn’t clean up.

I didn’t have any luck with soaking the dial in coffee and tea but that method has worked on hands for me.

I think I am going to try weathering paint for models next.

You could give it some layers of matt acrylic spray which would Cover the signs and give it a textured look.

one thing I am going to try is the "Peking duck roasting" technique 😅

meaning that you brush several layer of liquid coffee regularly while the dial is in the oven, one layer until dried by the heat then another .

very tedious but it might avoid the coffee stains from using ground coffee

Did your paint crackle during the process?

You can for sure try to mat varnish it to add texture and to dilute the defect, the colour look nice 🙂

It looks nice, if you think you screwed it up you should see some of my attempts...
