Gen-spec 2mm springbars fit perfectly, as does the T21 and bezel:

Widening the crown tube hole with the McGyver hand drill press worked flawlessly:

Used the McGyver for tapping as I don't have a small enough tap holder... really worked well as it held the tap perfectly vertically:

Only issue at this stage is that the thread on the crown tube is coarser than the thread on the tap (3X0.3)... will get this confirmed and hopefully I will be able to force the correct thread with the appropriate tap!
I ve bought a m3x0, 35 and have a same reticence to tap a case, I think to tap a hole in a metal plate to validate the thread is compatible on tube and tapper

Nice hand drilling machine 🙂

You dril the hole at Wich diameter?

I have the Athaya crown, which is stated as 3X0.30 (and confirmed by Athaya) but the thread looks different to my 3X0.30 tap:

My calipher measured the Clark T21 at 30.5mm. On the Raffles case, it was 30.70mm.

The WSO bezel measured around 30.44mm.

Widening the WSO bezel by hand without a clamp was more difficult than I imagined.
I think I widened the WSO bezel too much, and maybe unevenly.
The bezel fit the case/crystal simply by hand, without needing a crystal press.
It's not loose or anything, but it does come off rather easily by sliding a razor blade between the case/bezel.

I tried a water test, and it didn't pass, as some water bubbles formed underneath the crystal.

I think it was because during lug reshaping, I accidentally cut into the case/crystal lip at some points.

I don't plan on swimming or anything, but waterproofing will give some peace of mind.
Do you think if I changed to a T22 crystal, the tightness might better help waterproof it?

Overall, this was one of the most difficult builds so far, but I also learned so much.
Thank you to everyone for sharing your knowledge.
I'm tempted to build a few more in different colors now 😅

Parts:
Raffles 1016 sapphire case with thin crown
Raffles 1016 tropic dial, slight lume aging using dry brushing with pastel chalk
WSO bezel
Clark T21
NH38
NH38 "vintage" hands from Aliexpress; Also aged with pastel chalk

I would think that a T22 and UV glue would sort that.

My T21 and WSO are both in Sydney at the moment...when they get here I am going to bolt two bits of wood together and cut a 31 mm hole through them both, then sandwich the WSO between and apply the reamer that arrived a few days ago.

When I put it together I am looking to apply UV glue sparingly around the bottom edge of the T21 so that when activated it should aid in water resistance...with a smear of Dawn dishwashing liquid on the outside of the T21 to lubricate the WSO installation.

That is actually a genius idea. Seems like a good way to fill up any tiny cracks without fogging like superglue.
I have some UV resin though, not glue. I wonder if it would stick to steel.
Please update later with how it goes!

Youre not looking hard enough friend. They even make pencil hands for nh movements. Raffles Time &
Tiger Concepts has what your looking for: at least that was my plan on building a budget 6350
bubbled case back, decent lugs and thick bezel and domed acrylic.

although its possible to modify the caseback on a raffles case to bubble it but the thicker bezel would need to be made but this case set seems to cover all the bases and tweeks can be done to get it closer
Is there any chance you could measure across the caseback threads on the 10160P and tell us what the diameter is...ie, is it 30.8 mm?

Regards.
