Bored, so measured the inside depth of case with ali case back and three raffles case backs...largest difference is .04 mm. Measured thickness to outside of the same seated case backs on the ali case...maximum difference is .06 mm.

So...apart from a larger pendant tube thread size and a bit of a chamfer on the lugs it seems very close to a raffles sapphire case, for about $20 au cheaper.

Used the crystal press really straightforward (went with the threaded press rather than lever) noticed afterwards the tip of the rehaut had a few nicks which the crystal magnified, took it apart again and used a 1200 paper on a flat surface to take them out.

My dial from HR arrived today my novice eye is pleased with it on the whole

movement is the last piece to get now

This one look cool, have you give HR all the information for the Text or is it a standard 1016 they do?
I ve saw custom printing for all their dial....

Hi,
I just asked for a printed 1016 dial and this is what was offered to me. I’m not sure on custom printing I have read on the forum that you can order them with different patinas (with hands to match).
My build will be NOS in style so this suited well I thought

Dear friends, I am not sure if this is the right place for my request.
If not, please just move it or delete it.

I am looking for a vintage explorer 1016. Unfortunately these watches are no longer available through the TD's. If someone of you knows where I can get such a watch or even has a watch for sale I look forward to your messages. Best regards

You could build one by yourself. It's not that difficult and reading through this thread will give you the basic skills. Beside that members here are very helpful if you have questions. Believe me It's a lot of fun and you will build a special relationship to this watch which you designed by yourself.

A quick question: I have bought the Aftermarket 24-600 Crown and Tube from Athaya, who states "Crown tube pitch : M3x0.30", but the conventional wisdom says the gen crown tube 24-6000 tap is M3 x .35.

Does anyone have experience with the Athaya tubes, and know if I should go for a .30 tap or a .35?

Thanks in advance!

Question for those opening up bezels for acrylic crystals.

Has anyone used an adjustable hand reamer on the stainless bezels?

Managed to secure a genuine clasp, the raffles clasp measures .4mm wider so I needed to remove some material from the links to fit inside

I used a file and ran each side of the link a set number of times to remove the material, I measured regularly and also tested fitted the links within the clasp.

You can see here the finishing isn’t the best (not knocking them they are fantastic VFM) I noticed as I was removing the material it really began to refine the fitment

Still not ideal but a good improvement and worth the effort

Not sure how to edit the post above but when I say fitment I mean the screw within the link
