@1016 lover Where is that dial from. the print looks somewhat uneven and textured quite vintage in appearance.
This dial is from raffle, but did an attempt to texture it with may varnish, and finally go back with a cleaning session to remove the excess of mat varnish that fall appart... Happy accident, this one look very cool indeed, but not sure I can reproduce as my goal was to remove the varnish completely...@1016 lover Where is that dial from. the print looks somewhat uneven and textured quite vintage in appearance.
happy accident indeed. gives it an element of gen appearance. I watch some of the videos of watch sellers on youtube and they get some good macros of the dials and print and , they appear very similar to what you have achieved.This dial is from raffle, but did an attempt to texture it with may varnish, and finally go back with a cleaning session to remove the excess of mat varnish that fall appart... Interesting, my gold Helenarou set rocked up today as well, and I am pretty sure you ordered yours before me.The 13mm hands from Helenarou arrived - compared side by side with the Raffles hands, both look excellent, with the Raffles hands (right) the correct length for service hands, and the longer Helenarou hands (left) correct for original, non-service hands. I’m pleased to have this little detail sorted, now waiting for the thinner winding crown from Raffles
A couple of days earlier, but my shipment was caught by customs during Easter, which held things up a bitInteresting, my gold Helenarou set rocked up today as well, and I am pretty sure you ordered yours before me.
Thanks, not a relume - aged using the oven/coffee method.Nice job, did you relume the hands?
This is REALLY useful - if you have put so much research into the hands, I can't wait to see the rest of your buildI've been slowly collecting parts for a 1016 build and tried a few different suppliers to find my preferred set of hands for an eta movement. I've put some pics below in case its of any use for reference
My case has a 1975 SN so ideally I wanted a slight curve to the hands. Personally I'm favouring a combination of
Hours = no.3
Seconds = no.2
Minutes = undecided, I like the curve and finishing of no.2 but the lume looks quite skinny in comparison to the hour hand, no.3 is slightly fatter so is more balanced with the hour hand
