Just a heads up to you (and all), Raffles made a short run (100 dials) of the Mark 2 design/colors. I'm not sure if he's going to have them on the website, but now is the time to reach out to them if you're interested in that one. I had no success finding it anywhere else, so he obliged my request to make a short run of them.
Can you post a pic or a link please?

I'm pretty sure airbrush paint is just water based acrylic paint.
it's candy or transparent, which you can build a color with layers, compared to opaque
It may very well be acrylic

Yes I still use weathering paints to age dials , it gives it a nice sun faded look , to dirty up the lume or to dirty the dial surface.
I usually get a white lume dial and age it with an air brush candy paint that darkens in layers. I dilute it with water and apply with an oiler
Thanks for this. Your weathering usually looks great, not over the top, and very real. I'm definitely taking notes. For aging lume, is there a particular brand of airbrush paint or will most (waterbased) ones work for this since they are pre-thinned and of similar makeup.

The only "Howler" is the Swiss T<25 is in the wrong position in relation to the chapter ring indices.
Otherwise it's good.

mk2 dials have the swiss text at the top of the minute markers.

Sorry - I'm getting mixed up between Mark 2 (serial 2xxxxxxx) and the Matte Service Dials.

yeah it gets confusing sometimes, i was under the impression that only mk1 dials have the frog foot coronet.
seems like service dials have that frog foot too (with luminova, white lume)

Yep, there was a certain amount of "crossover' going on - service dials issued as dials on new, old "new" dials issued as Service Dials, etc.

Still, makes life generally easier for us as no expert can be a true 100% expert with that fluidity (randomness) of issue variance going on out of the factory.

Found this on another forum, sharing it here for reference, for anyone looking to build a Franken 1016 using a Datejust case. Side profile looks to me like the 16XX is best, although from the top, I believe it's not the best of the options.

You can also see how the bezel profile is different between the 4 models.

Those cases make me rethink the Raffles case. Much more work on top and botton of lugs. The sides are not enough
