I recently discovered that gen cases for the 1560 are generally much cheaper on eBay than those for the 1570. The two movements look almost similar except for the rotor, but I'm not sure if their specifications are the same. If they are, it seems like I could make a nice build using a 1570 adapter.

I have never been very interested in 1016 but after reading this thread, I want to try to make one.

I finally got the parts together and assembled it.

you need this one

or the rivet version.

if you order, make sure you tell Ken that it's for a 1016, to get the right endlinks

Also, if one day you do the lug holes enlargement to fit 2mm springbars, you will need to mod the endlinks and first link of the bracelet

Thank you for your advice.

I have the same bracelet I purchased for the 16220 and will try to install it.

I have already machined the lug holes but am having a hard time machining the end links to install the 2mm spring bar.

What you need is a cylindrical diamond file of 1.7mm

Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! 1,62€ 50% Off | Diamond Cylindrical File 1/1.2/1.5/1.7/2.2/2.8/3.3/4/5/6mm Small Diameter Reaming File Grinding Tool Jade Alloy Assorted File

just file the inside of the endlinks where the springbar passes. don't rrush it. Just enough else they will become too thin

its "wrong" because of the clasp from my perspective.
the 1016 only had rivet bracelets with this clasp or

some kind of oyster style (no rivets) with this clasp

jubilees were also on the 1016 but they also used the clasp used in rivet bracelets.
the 1016 never had the flip lock style clasp

Final experiment:
I made some espresso, filtered it, and just dumped the dial and hands in it overnight. Kept the whole thing steady at 75’C.

After a day, this really aged it (a bit too far to my taste). The acidity must have corroded the metal hands because they kind of turned pink. The dial lume all stripped off. Dial paint starting to deteriorate.

I did a similar test once but at much higher temp and very short time

The dial and hands just hate heat while immersed in coffee. The liquid coffee destroys them. Not pretty at all

Now you might have a different and better result if you leave the parts in contact with the solid ground coffee, dry. The ambiant humidity will dampen it.
