I received the watch today and I’m floored!! I thought GF had hit a home run when I received my blacksteel but after getting the SS version today I realized the GF hit it out of the park with this watch.

The one gripe I had with the blacksteel version was that the bezel action, which isn't bad, but not as smooth as the gen version I had tried on. GF seems to have corrected that issue in the SS version and now the bezel click is much smoother. The only noticeable flaw I see in the SS is that the triangle marker at 12 is slightly larger than the gen version , but that’s not a big deal to me.

The SS bracelet is fantastic and feels very solid and has some weight to it. I would have to guess that if you put a gen and rep bracelet or even the entire watch on a scale that they would weigh pretty close to Gen. If anyone knows what the Gen weighs I would love to know because the SS watch weighs in at 7.3Ooz and the blacksteel on the rubber strap weighs in at 5.3oz which makes me think the SS bracelet weighs very close to 2oz just for the band.

Don't quote me on this because I haven't taken the band off the watch but I'm almost positive all of the links are solid SS including the end links. I also recently picked up a Tudor BlackBay and the bracelet on these superocean 44's is far superior to the one that comes with the Tudor. There is nothing about the SS band that gives me that after market or cheap feel to it like some rep bracelets do. The bracelet is brushed steel except for the sides of the links which are polished. I would be hard pressed to be able to pick out the gen and the rep bracelet if I had both in my hands. My only concern is that maybe down the road the latch on the buckle might loosen up over time since the joints that snap together are also SS and might wear down over time, but this is the only thing I could think of the "might" happen. Overall, I would highly recommend both of these watches.

Having read the whole thread I am very tended to get one of the watches. I have narrowed down my choice to the Blacksteel version by GF on black rubber or the SS version by GF with blue dial. Can someone point me out which of the two models is closer to the rep, or if both are great. Here are the links of both watches from the TD.

I picked the Blue with SS bracelet. Here are some pics. The quality is top notch. GF continues to produce great Breitling reps. I have several Gen Breitling's to compare the quality and I can't find anything wrong.

What about the blue color tone of the bezel of the as version and dial .I heard it is different compared to gen.

I have the watch. I think it looks great. Did you look at the description on other websites? It may just be a translation issue. I do a lot of business in China. This is a common issue.

I saw that yours have different typo in the discdate than mine.
The numbers 2, 5, 6, 9 are rounded in yours, and mine are shaped.

Seems it's metal. Looks pretty good from photos. Side-by-side with gen will be great to see.

So, the insert is pvd/dlc metal and the bezel also i guess ?

If that's true, it's interesting GF decided to go that route. On the gen breitling it's a solid full ceramic bezel. No inserts at all. Seeing as how making ceramic parts is trivial for these rep factories, I don't see why GF would decide to go for a plated metal bezel rather than gen like construction for the bezel.

I really hope GF folks clear the confusion here. All dealers except one are listing it as single ceramic block.

I am going to place an order for blue superocean special tonight. I have not seen any comments about the AR quality, so I will send it to Prof for his 2XAR Crystal if the quality is not up to the mark.
