Strap Freaks!!!

I will. I’ll let you know if I make any progress but to be honest, as soon as I got back he notification that you replied I thought “ugh if he sent me a link showing a good tutorial, that would suck because it will be one more project I won’t get to.” Lol. But it is something I really want to try.

Also I wouldn’t mind changing some stitching on some really nice existing straps.


Secondary question. Has anyone used tan-go (I believe?)? He has a handful of straps listed in the m2m section and they look outstanding. Like crazy good. I’m just wondering if the quality is close to what we deal with and talk about on here. Pics attached of tan gos straps from his threads.

For stitching... you need a basic stitching pony, john james needles, .55mm polyester thread (amy roke recommended), scissors, a lighter and youtube for instructions on how to 'saddle stitch' = not complicated. Total amount of goods around $40-50usd.

The tan-go straps all look really great, but the keepers look a bit flimsy and will probably stretch. I wish they were thicker... perhaps she can make them thicker for you.

Those Cordes straps are super unique, and extremely well finished. Such a great concept repurposing those old leather bags!!!

David's straps are second to none IMO with regards to his level of skill and precision with stitching / finishing etc. Just to clarify though, these straps from Cordes were not made with his ammo pouch leather. Two are made from hides from the Horween tannery and one (darker brown) is a Badalassi Carlo hide.

Beautiful strap and while it would go great with a number of models, the biggest issue is finding one available. Although we might have a new contender coming out soon (as posted in the forum). Also it depends on size -24/26?

And up_right I thought you were asking which watch to buy not which to chose. It makes things easier when you have a little stash yourself.


As for the state of the panerai rep market, I hope it is not gone forever. I am sure someone will come in at some point yo fill t here hole created by VSFs closing. But right now options are limited.

A lot of shark skin and a the leathers with some wear/patina/maybe sea washing in differed colors.
