Strap Freaks!!!

So I would be asking for the return as customer service from Ken. I agree with the points in this thread, but I was expecting more for the quality of the strap. The stiffness for me is not what I was expecting in the price range these are sold at. This is his decision, and as you have said the leather band LOOKS spot on as to the pictures listed and there are no damages on arrival. But the way it feels is just not my cup of tea. Just like most rep watches come with a leather band that looks the part, to me a watch strap should feel great on the wrist.

So, what I’m asking for is a return as I am not thrilled with the product. I am not saying I’m owed anything, just want to get a response back.

TBH I don't think the strap maker owes you a refund. I went back and read your account of the 'instagram' strap and would guess that this strap has a foam padding - which you equate as 'soft'. This is not how the best strap makers pad their straps to create thickness and will eventually break down.

Also - as with most good quality leathers / exotic hides they need time to break in.

Ok GGEuroHEADSHOT , comparing it to the straps that come with reps is a bit too much IMO. I think ZF straps are usually the best ones among rep straps but still rather low quality.

And there is another thing, I still do not understand what is the problem with the strap being thin at the buckle end, if it was padded at that end how would you expect it to fit in that buckle that you've shown in your pictures?

Yeah Ken from Delugs hasn’t even responded to me. If the straps look good, go for it but not even a response from him. Happy I posted on here and got some dialog out of it.

I traded for a few new straps and it is interesting. A friend wanted some straps I had and I didn’t like anything they showed me but I picked two to trade really just to get him the straps he wanted. Like in the pics I saw, I was thinking “I really don’t like these straps but whatever”

Then I got them and even the one I liked the least in the pics is the one I like the most in hand. I never would have bought this strap but it’s awesome and looks great irl. I thought it looked good but meh. And I put it on a watch and it just looks absolutely great.

I also picked up a Kostas, Corrigia, a few Cordes and an orloff this week. It’s out of control. lol. Please, someone stop me.

Anyway my original point was that you should try things in person and in hand before making your final judgement. Some of my favorite straps are unlikely combinations.

Or the set ups I get the most compliments on are often the straps I’d never think to put on a certain model. And then when I put an unlikely strap on a certain model, it’s like the clouds part and the sun shines and it’s so beautiful that I can’t stop just staring at it.

That’s why I love panerai. It gives me more of those moments than any other brand. Anyway, dramatic rant over. Back to the thread.

Which did you get from Corrigia? With their website pictures as they are I am always interested to see what the straps look like in real life.....

Absolutely. I know I had that issue with them previously. This is a Z-13 Ernesto Notari and how it’s listed on their site.

Thanks Hazing , this one is actually pretty close to the pics, I've seen and experienced much worse. I have 1 Corrigia on the way as well, will post pics when it arrives.

But I have others from corrigia that lol great and very close. I think the Zeitmachine line they tend to get pretty close. I have a z12 I think and it’s pretty spot on. And the squadra line too. Others are all over the place though.

I’ve come to expect quite a bit of variation from irl to pics but sometimes it looks like completely different leathers with some. With so many makers.

It's supposed to be the version with dark finish, I will post pics when I get it.

Regarding the Zeitmachine straps, I really like the Z01 and Z02 models, I might get one of those before the sale ends, only if the L13 arrives looking ok.

In the past I've had some bad experience with L20, also the Fletch06 I received has not been as in the pictures but still a nice strap. I think that if it does not work out this time I will not order from them again.

One more thing, can you show a side picture of that strap? You ordered it true vintage 5,5 mm or 4,5 mm thick? I am a bit curious about the thickness and how they look on 44mm cases.
