I think that sums it up nicely

Maybe the odd comment, maybe the odd “judgement”
But for the most part nobody notices.
The enjoyment most get every day outweighs the one negative/critical comment from one person who honestly just went home and that night and had a ton of other crap to deal with. Nobody really cares, even if they make the odd smart ass comment, it’s here today gone tomorrow.
Everyone has way bigger stuff to deal with like accidentally knocking up the babysitter or trying to keep their job.

Yes, it was the exception that confirms the rule.

And, i don't think that 99 % of people knows exactly the price list of ALL the maison.

Sure, the Nautilus, the Royal Oak and the fu**ing Rolexes....but a JLC ? A Chopard ? A lot of expensive timepieces would fly under the radar.

Hell, i could wear a Glashutte Original Sea Q and 99,9999% of human beings would not bat an eye because they would even know what it is in the first place !

In the end : wear whatever you like, and wear it with pride and confidence. 💪

To most people an RM whether gen or rep looks like a fat Casio.

A Rolex looks like you are trying too hard to make it and you more than likely eat out of a dumpster… and most people will think rep anyway

An omega you’ll have a bond fetish and people especially women will not say “oh James .. “ and fall at your feet

A panerai people “who? An Italian navy divers watch… er who cares about them? “

VC errrrrr sorry buddy never heard of the em, pretty watch looks a bit like an omega huh.. do you have a bond fetish?

AP “oh right yeah they give theee away at golf don’t they… must be pretty cheap then huh. Cant you afford an omega? “

Avoid this all by wearing a GSHOCK or whatever you damn well like and £uck what anyone else thunks they obviously don’t have as good taste as you.😝

But when I work at the law firm specialising in M&A, my partners can cite how many deluxe watches I have and when did I buy them (when they first saw them).

True, however... high rollers in certain industries, where superficiality and assholery are important "social elements" (even if it's forced on you to "play along" only by peer pressure 😆), are the only exception where my briefcase being from LV or Gucci or my watch being an AP or Patek actually matters. 😂

But that's a rather small percentage of the overall population. I'm talking about poor to average and slightly above average folks that make up close to 99% of the world. 😉

I keep wearing 100K reps as a cry for attention.

Nobody has noticed or given two shits.

😔

Full gold AP incoming should change that.

I'm old enough and in a "social position" supporting almost any "reasonable" purchase.
Seamaster, Sub, etc

I wear Reps because 90%+ of the time no one can tell and if they can, who cares?

Most guys are wearing apple watches anyway

I don't wear Rolex watches anymore, but my rather large Deepsea Cameron, which I just recently sold, got quite a few comments. What also got comments is my outright gigantic Zlatoust 191ChS.
But you know what gets more comments from average folks than any other luxury watch? My incredible G-Shock Mudmaster!

What I conclude from this is that a watch that gets noticed is a watch that will more likely than not trigger comments. And watches that get attention are (1) gold watches with diamonds, (2) BIG Rolex watches, and (3) BIG G-Shocks.

Deductive reasoning therefore tells us that a regular sized luxury watch, as an extreme a Patek Calatrava, totally flies under the radar for 99.99+% of all people. But if you wear something like the following watch, people will look at your wrist and notice your watch!

P.S. @Karbon74 . . . since you brought it up, I venture that 99.99+% of us "watch people" right here could not guess correctly what a G-Shock G-D5000-9JR costs. Yes, people, I mean YOU!

I don't want to spoil your fun guessing . . .

For shure reverse when the theme is boobs 😉

Well, in the reverse case it actually happens.

Which man (or LGHDTV-woman 🌈) doesn’t stare at a nice pair on the first date? 😂

The situation in the meme always remains a fantasy though. Although I had a cute girl notice my Pepsi once...

Unfortunately, it wasn't on a date. 😆

She was a vampire-nurse who was extracting my blood while commenting on the Rolex. At my quarterly physical check-up at the doctors office. I was unable to enjoy the moment because I really hate needles stuck in my arm. 😢🤣🤣🤣

That tells us right there that he's middle class.
Someone with money, power, and influence has their personal doctor check in daily.

Quarterly 😳

Yes. I'm a significantly ill man. 🤕🤒

I'm a walking miracle of almost Biblical proportions that should've been dead a decade ago (I'm not joking) ...

But astonishingly, I'm in relatively good shape, thanks also to the close medical monitoring. Much to the anger and displeasure of my foes, I may add... 💪😎 🤣

I was never really that interested in nice watches, until I sold some art for a client and part of the deal was an 18k 6263 Daytona, tropical dial, which had an agreed value of $150k and as part of my due diligence I had to determine whether that was a fair price for the Trust.

Went down the rabbit hole and promised myself if have one one day, maybe not a gold version but definitely steel and I'm having one made by a member here at the moment.

I'd feel comfortable wearing it in work meetings or out with my wife, and will get a true version in the next few years.

Daily is a gen BB GMT that I wear with snide straps that I like, but wearing the snide6263 i wouldn't worry about being called out
