single malt etc

Was given a bottle of BOWMORE Islay single malt "darkest" - 15 year old. Not too shabby!
Taste tested 4 Johnny Walkers with a fellow who knows his whisky. Red, Black, Gold and Blue. I opted for the Black, believe it or not. Buddy raved about the Blue. The Bowmore blew them all away. Upward and onward.

I am new in the scotch game, starting to find some single malts that are amazing. Macallan 12 is great to me... never had the 18. Also, anyone ever tried Glenkinchie 12? I don't see it around too much but I had some a while back, was amazing. (single malt)

yes i had a bottle of Glenkinchie 12 that I just bought. Very smooth, nice malty yet slightly tarty bite, which I love.

http://www.johnlwhiskey.com/images/J-L-Sullivan-Whiskey-Front.pngI just got a bottle of John L. Sullivan Whiskey for Christmas. Very smooth and a great value.

"John L. Sullivan vs. Jake Kilrain
The Library of Congress photograph below is from the last Bare-Knuckle world title bout in history. It ended a 170 year legacy of champions. John L. Sullivan (chest facing camera) defeated challenger Jake Kilrain after 75 brutal rounds, when Kilrain’s corner stopped the fight upon the doctor's advice that he would surely die if he continued. Held on July 8th, 1889, in Richburg, Mississippi, the fight lasted two & a half hours, under a blistering midday sun. Both fighters were said to be sipping a mixture of sweet tea and whiskey in-between rounds.

......bought a bottle of Johnny Walker Gold over the holidays. It was ok, but not worth $100.00 a bottle, imo. I much prefer Glenlevit 12 yr old @ $36.00 a bottle.....

I'm a fan of Dalwhinnie, Auchentoshan (sp?), Bunnehaiban. Like a touch of the honey flavors.

Here a few of my favourites, just can't bring myself to open the 18yr old ones, must have had them for over 12 years. The 100% proof one is really smooth.
