Anyone know a way to use the NH38 in a 34mm case? It's too big with the plastic movement spacer attached, but a bit too lose with it removed. I was going to 3D print one, but before I get started, wanted to know if there was another solution.

Mine's almost done, the dial came out great. Then hands that Raffles shipped me had a defect seconds hand (it's way too short, looks like it was manufactured from the end of the run or something), but it's sitting in a gen case for a 1500, which has a nice amount of patina. I used a Clark's T12 or T13 crystal with beveled edges, but planning on getting a domed one from Sternkruz eventually.
I have seen a plastic ziptie used as a spacer…

Ok, as long as it's workable, I'll figure it out. Just didn't want to waste the hand set that I ordered, and didn't want to invest time and effort in a project that wasn't workable.

Should be done tonight or tomorrow...first dial that I completely lumed by hand, I'm quite excited.

Ah well, there is only one as far as I can see. Which is why I didn't share the link. But if I decide to not buy it, I'll send you the link. Sorry, for the slightly weird approach
I'm not positive from those photos alone, but the links and their folding seem to be more accurate than the modern mass-produced/cartel rivet replicas. Also wish there was another photo of the underside of the strap, and I can't tell how thick it is. Cheap rivet replicas are thick like a modern oyster bracelet, but the nice vintage ones are much thinner... links almost look sleek from the side instead of fat and rounded. That appears to be thin and nice quality from what I can see. Not 100% positive though.

I already have one, but I'm really curious of the source. Please send me a link too! Obviously, after it's sold or if you choose not to buy. Definitely understand your secrecy at the moment. I'm on the hunt for a Jubilee.

@dpd3672 have you finished yours?
Almost.

Hit a snag fitting the NH38 to the 34mm case. And the seconds hand Raffles sent me is defective and way too short, so will probably swap in a Datejust hand for the time being.

Maybe tonight if I get some uninterrupted time, although the damn rabbit holes are usually what distracts me, lol.

Late to the party, but this build gave me a lot of problems. Seems like every break went against me.

It started with a set of hands that were defective…the seconds hand is too short. I was going to swap in a Datejust hand, but started to like the idiosyncrasy after a while. Will eventually swap it out, but it is kinda like something you’d find on an older watch.

Then attempted to use a NH movement in a 34mm case, which is not worth the trouble. I’m loving the Seiko movements, but too much custom tweaking required to use them in the smaller case. It working perfectly now, but it was a long, tedious road.

Then it all had to be torn apart and redone, because the hands were rubbing against the crystal, so a custom dial spacer was printed to go along with the custom movement spacer. Lots of trial and error before it finally was right.

Finally, a cheap AliX jubilee bracelet that’s actually very good for the price ($5 USD, what’s not to like?!?) and Gen like to the extent the end link gaps are awful (seriously, though, Gen folded end links are like this on lots of vintage watches). I got a little tired of leather, Oyster, and NATO, so tried something different.

Gen (ref 1500) case set
Clarks t13 crystal
Raffles dial and hands, aged and re lumed
AliX 6mm crown and jubilee bracelet
NH38 with custom dial and movement spacer

Stumbled onto these, from Clark's on Ebay. They look like the right sizes for a Commando build on an ETA movement. 8mm, 12.5mm, 12.5mm

its a gen bracelet. i havent found any rep rivet bracelets that are worth it so far.
Agreed. You think they would be more popular considering that what a Daytona came on.

Ive been wearing mine on a green woven nato.

Also got around to swapping in a new set of raffles commando hands Its officially done 📣

That looks great. The raffles hands are better than the ofrei ones, but I haven't had time to make bushings to make them fit the 1210 movement. I've still got the dial to age or possibly relume so I'll deal with it in one sitting.

It's got a rolex 1210. This was later updated to the 1220 wich is what's in the Gen 6429.

Nice!! Gen case set or did it fit into a raffles case?
please share pics when you can.
