Agree it’s epic as is … weight better than v8 … it’s not perfect … movement would look epic with correct bridge and free spring and a better gold rotor … they a dead give away .. the rest is very nice and pleasing to look at it definitely not a disappointment.. the clasp is not a smooth or gen like as clean ! Buy a band swap it ..

There are dead giveaways on all rep watches but the case and dial/hands/bezel are the most important factors seeing as that is what we all see when on wrist. Take any rep off the wrist and any knowledgeable watch guy will spot plenty of issues. However for the money this one looks amazing and is £150,000 minimum saving over the Gen.

So, my personal QF daytona Le Mans 100 finally went to this: I thought about doing it into a superfranken chancing a genuine 116519 with changed dial, bezel and ground to the final - but then it just ended up like this:



This is the QF version modded just to waterresistance .

So, I made it waterresinstant and changed the strap to a GEN middle link anda GEN leather strap



So I changed strap AND clasp to OG ones and it feels very comfortable and looks imho like hell - even this model isn’t purchased by Rolex originally … they should do anyway





So all restored parts are genuine by ROLEX and imho this models would stand out and reign the market

Love this built, it is my abslut favourite for years …

Well,

I FIRST had to Swap the daytona INTO a case that fits the strap - I used the 116519 baby-daytona case which has two wholes for a middle link AND a strap, so it needs 2 wholes for this build … otherwise you‘ll have a gap to the watch.

So if you have the right case, it fits gen endlinks and gen straps of course

GM sells end links for the 12 series Daytonas but I’m unsure of the fitment on PM cases

Looks great on leather, I wear all my Daytona on Saffiano or Epsom without ends and it works well. Modern watch company bracelets are just too chunky imo compared to the beautiful vintage ones from the likes of Gay Freres

Being a big vintage guy I have made peace with leather without ends.

Is only the "gain weight" using the new 24 hour counter movement? Or does the lighter one have it too? Not convinced I'd spend the extra for the weight (I'm not taking it off and handing it to anyone), but I do like the idea of the 24 hour counter.
