QF Le Mans with a GEN whitegold bracelet … vs QF 126519 with a gain weight bracelet vs. QF 126519 with Oysterflex … :

.

In my opinion the gen WG bracelet takes the watch to another limit - just optically - you cant compare any plated or in any way repped or modded bracelet to the the shine, glamour and weight and feel and feeling and wear comfort of a gen one :)

Addition:
I love to take reps as near as possible to ‚perfection‘ … but in case of the QF daytona Le Mans it seems almost impossible to source and even get gen parts (except fingers and glass and pushers/crown) - so I guess, I‘ll keep it like it is (cant change bezel and dial anyway to gen) and enjoy it with a gen WG bracelet from an older gen daytona) - the feeling for wearing it with the gen bracelet is really amazing and the true point is:
Everyone who is interested in watches a little bit dont believe it anyway - how much you franken it, that it is a totally gen watch, ‚cause it costs over € 220.000 above ;)

So, you cant have everything … ;)

On the gain weight is the bracelet actually weighted also, I didn’t know if bracelet and buckle actually had greater weight than standard, love what you’ve Done with it.

Gain weight bracelet with 15 (!) links vs. gen WG bracelet with only 10 links … :

So, there is still an immense difference in feeling and weight - remember the gain weight rep bracelet has 15 links and the gen only 10 links … and has 6g more with 66% of the amount of links ;)

I do not believe the QF bracelet is weighted, and it's a lousy bracelet as well. Quality stinks.

The wg bracelet doesn’t match the colour of the case though

You are right.
But I think it is no big problem to let a modder plate the case in WG ;)

I dont know if I do this - it is a nice watch, but after a few weeks I guess I will have another favorite one and will change the strap back to the QF weighted one and than it fits the color of the case.

I really thought about modding this beautiful watch - but I know I cant get either a gen bezel, nor a gen dial - and modded only for the fingers, pushers and glass is in my opinion not worth the investments and time/work if you know from the beginning that you never will finish this Franken because of the never available gen dial and gen bezel …

… so I will wear it some days and then it will wander to my watchbox and the gen bracelet will return to its origin case :)

The origin WG gen daytona:

But its fun to change watch parts anyway, so perhaps I will install a black Oysterflex and wear it from time to time … :)

That‘s a good point.
When I found the time next days I will weigh 3 links of a Noob, ARF, Clean and QF normal and QF weighted and gen links … and post the result here - I am also very interested in the results :)

Yes, I think the same... and we have to keep in mind that the tungsten version has some issues with finishing colors and above all it doesn't add the same weight as gen... but only few grams more than SS... so fingers crossed for Clean new releases !
Be nice to hear some definite news from clean that this will indeed happen and a time frame .my dealer says no such news .. what about VSF ?

Thank you that’s very interesting, it would be nice to wg plate the case

So, today I did the weight test between ARF, Noob, VSF, Clean, QF weighted, Gen SS and Gen WG:

For ‚the test’ I always weighted 3 links with their screws:

The result is that ARF, VSF, Clean are kind of the same weight, the Noob is a little heavier - the QF gain weight is indeed some grams over the others (ca. 1 gram per link) and the gens are heavier - I really thought the WG gen is much heavier than the SS, but isn’t really - I guess the heavy weight for the WG daytona comes from the case of the watch itself ;).

So this comparison is from my watches, weight from other examples can vary of course …

Have a nice Sunday everyone :)

Great comparison, thx mate.
QF (gain weight) indeed feels heavy and premium on wrist and this has been confirmed this way ;)

I wonder if the Gen has only wg center links, that seems like is way to close one the SS/WG comparison. either way you could WG plate a Gen SS and the case of QF and have a very nice result

Yeah really surprised at the weight of the gen ss

Anyone else with a gen to weigh to increase the sample size?

I have jubilee with rose gold but it’s in storage with the box and papers

Have you weighed the buckle of the gain weight WF against the rep bulkle of Arf or others… I’ve read that someone is doing a tungsten buckle but I’ve never been able to confirm it, thanks

Here are the buckles ;)

So the QF gain weight buckle is heavier than the normal QF buckle and the other rep buckles - the gen one is (what a wonder) the heaviest :)

And the old Noob bracelets and buckle were the heaviest ‚normal‘ Rep bracelets - no wonder most people liked the Noob watches (they didn’t know why, but it had the heaviest feeling)
